Protect your Peace ✨

1. Boundaries may not be understood or accepted. Notice what you can control vs. what you can’t.

2. Know your capacity & limits surrounding people, food, alcohol, and spending.

3. Relaxation looks different for everyone so find space to connect/disconnect as needed.

Most importantly, be kind to yourself! Forgive when you mess up and try again, you’re human.

Tips for navigating mental fatigue or exhaustion:
Have a system and stay organized- no matter how chaotic it may seem from the outside looking in, have a system that makes sense to you!

Be Realistic- start small and stay consistent. You will benefit from small acts.

Create time for rest! Set an alarm and get rid of distractions.

Meditate and move in a way that works for you and your body. Be aware of possible comparisons you may be making with others.

Have some kind of place for reflection, data keeping, and self expression. Use a journal, voice memo, daily calls with a bestie or your mom, whatever it is, make it a regular outlet.

"Let everything happy to you: Beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final. "

Be an observer of your experiences and understand the good, the bad, the painful and beautiful will all exist, sometimes maybe even all at once.

Up for a challenge? Sometimes it's the little things that we forget to do that end up making a huge difference in our mental wellness.

1. Connect with someone you love or miss. Really attempt to connect with them. Do this by communicating how you feel, making eye contact, and make space for them with listening ears.

2. Take a Break from social media! Take a day off and see how you feel. Be intentional about how you spend your time off of social media. No cheating!!

3. Write down your strengths and favorite positive affirmations. If you are stumped then that is a sign you can focus more energy on improving positive self talk.

4. Go to one of your favorite places (maybe it's the beach or your spot on the couch) and practice gratitude. Take in your surroundings and let yourself exist in the moment- no judgement, just be.

Connect Within Journal or Visual Exercise:

Imagine you are sitting at a table with different versions of you. Close your eyes and visualize: you, sitting across from you. The current version of you is tasked to explain to the younger versions of you what life is, who you are, and what you have been through. The child, the adolescent, the teenage, and young adult version of you are eagerly waiting to hear you speak.

How do you describe your life, your energy and being to them? How do the words sound as you speak them? What lens or framework are you speaking and communicating? How do you imagine it to feel to share with yourself?

Let me know how you liked this exercise! ✨

Core beliefs are our most deeply held assumptions about ourselves, the world, and others. Your reality is based off of these assumptions. In therapy, we can break down, explore, and reframe our beliefs which may interfere or hold us back from living a more genuine or fulfilling life.

Fun Fact: This is one of my favorite phrases or quotes of all time. Perspective is everything! ☀

You may read this and think "of course, that's obvious" but in reality it may be very hard to notice these warning signs in yourself or in others. Don't just know the warning signs, do something about it!

One way to address warning signs is to address your observations. Make note of the changes you see and come from a place of love/caring and be supportive by using active listening skills instead of jumping to problem solving.

If you notice warning signs for yourself, your brain may jump to invalidating your experience or cause you to believe you're a burden to others if you seek support- this is untrue! In times of adversity, connection and support foster growth and progress.

I can do hard things.
Repeat.
I can do hard things.

Take a minute of your day to reflect on all that you have succeeded, all that you have accomplished, and most importantly all that you have survived.

Kicking off a Summer Wellness Series to help you have a healthy and fun summer season! ☀

First topic to start the series is ROUTINE!

Why? Your schedule may be changing; maybe you're saying yes to more after work get togethers or you have time off for summer vacation. Here are some things to try so that you get the most out of your summer!

Daily: How are you starting and ending your day? Are you rushed and going through the motions to just “get things done?” Start incorporating a simple practice like a 5 minute meditation or Gratitude List

Weekly: People thrive on productivity and “the hustle”, but we need rest. Allow for time to rest, relax, and do nothing. Follow this with a mental check-in, how did it feel to do nothing? You may notice you feel guilt or discomfort, that’s not a sign to stop but a sign to keep practicing!

Monthly: Do your weekdays and weekend typically look the same each month? If so, take a look at what was missing or what you wished you experienced more of and make a mindful effort to make it happen.
