Sunday client shopping… 1 tip I use is I posted a pad on her wall so that staff and the client can write things needed so that I can call and have the list read off prior to my visit and get everything on my way to visit.
I also make sure I I always speak to one of the caregivers so they know I purchased the items on the list as this encourages them to continue to use the list and allows me to purchase in advance and not on short notice.

One thing unexpected as a guardian is how much you live out your car …lunch, meetings, pulling over to send docs needed asap …. So I love days there is a block of space to do cute coffee shops like The Blend Coffee & Wine- Downtown.

The day in the life of a Guardian …..meeting to partner with new nursing home, monthly client visits and now doing admin work and returning calls until next meeting instead of going back to the office.

It’s overwhelming to 1st make the decision to have others care for you or your loved one. Placement agencies like or care managers and guardians can assist with this process & do a lot of the leg work to narrow down facilities to choose. They also can assist with the transition of the move-in. As a prior Administrator our founder offers a great UNIQUE BEHIND THE SCENE PERSPECTIVE.

Informal or unpaid caregiving has been associated with:

Elevated levels of depression and anxiety,
Higher use of psychoactive medications,
Compromised immune function &
Increased risk of early death.
Over half (53%) of caregivers indicate that a decline in their health compromises their ability to provide care.

Furthermore, caregivers and their families often experience economic hardships through lost wages and additional medical expenses.
