Hypermobility is often one of those things that starts as a neat party trick as a young kid but gradually becomes problematic.

Hyperextension leads to joint pain and strain. Posturing difficulty can lead to some muscles being overused while others are underused. Together, this can lead to instability and difficulty with motor control. Oh and that hugely frustrating pain!

If you're struggling with your day to day due to hypermobility, even if its still just discomfort and not full injury, we're here to help.

Targeted exercises help strengthen the right muscles to improve joint instability. One on one therapy aids in improving posture and increasing motor control.

You don't have to just live with the pain of hypermobility. Targeted therapy can be an important part of improving quality of life.

When someone asks if period pain that disrupts your life is normal.... NO! Period pain that causes you to miss school or work is not normal. No matter how many people repeat this myth, it will never be true.

Period pain is common, but that doesn't make it normal.

A little fatigue, some discomfort, regular dose over the counter pain relief, that can be normal.

Extreme fatigue. Cramping and pain not relieved with normal OTC doses of medication. Vomiting from pain. Passing out from pain. Being unable to focus or physically go to work or school. - none of that is normal.

While physical therapy cannot cure many potential causes and triggers of severe period pain, like endometriosis, pcos, fibroids, etc., it can help reduce some pain and improve function alongside proper gyn care - keyword being proper.

Pelvic therapy can assist with adhesions, muscle tension and muscle spasms, pelvic floor dysfunction, nerve pain, posturing and guarding, and more.

Tired of the pain? We can help alongside proper gyn care.

Repeat after me: period 👏🏽 pain 👏🏽 is 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 normal 👏🏽

Ovulation 👏🏽 pain 👏🏽 is 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 normal 👏🏽

Pelvic 👏🏽 pain 👏🏽 is 👏🏽 normal 👏🏽

Now, can occasional discomfort and mild pain that is easily alleviated with rest, warmth, and ibuprofen fall within expected menstrual discomfort? Perhaps.

But if period, ovulation, and general pelvic pain require medication, constant heating pads, impact your ability to work or go to school, distract and disrupt your mood, make personal care difficult, cause fatigue, or just disrupt your life in any capacity - that's not normal.

Period pain is common. But pain isn't normal. Discomfort, feeling blah, sure menstruating isn't always a joy. But it shouldn't disrupt your life.

When we normalize pain to kids and young adults, we can delay when they seek care. We need to stop normalizing pain.

When chronic or frequent pain isn't treated and managed, we risk long term and even permanent consequences. Nerves, muscles, endometriosis progression, adhesions, etc., can all worsen without care. Even once treated, former chronic pain can permanently alter the body. Endometriosis can permanently alter the body.

Let's make feeling okay throughout the menstrual cycle the norm so that when someone experiences pain, they know to seek help.

Pain is common. Pain is not normal.

How do you workout after baby?

Many new moms wonder when and how they can return to exercise or work on healing abdominal muscles.

Many of us grew up doing crunches and sit ups in gym class and default to that for ab exercises. However, did you know jumping into those exercises after baby can actually increase abdominal separation and impact pelvic floor muscles?

While 100% of moms may not need targeted physical therapy for healing, 100% deserve a consult to assess the best path for healing.

Did you know consults to pelvic floor therapists is standard in some countries? The US is finally beginning to catch up, but maybe not fast enough.

Our free 15-20 minute Belly After Baby consult assesses for diastasis recti versus typical abdominal changes after birth. One absolutely benefits from targeted therapy, the other may still benefit but home exercise might be safe too.

Whether you have concerns about your abs, back, or pelvic floor, we can help. And if you decide you'd like to move forward with targeted physical therapy, we're in network with most major insurance plans.
