You asked. You waited. It’s finally here. 🍵

Organic, curated, loose-leaf Japanese green tea is now available in our apothecary. 🍵

We are so happy to share this selection of organic teas, including genmaicha (roasted rice tea), houjicha (roasted green tea) and two varieties of sencha (traditional steamed and rolled Japanese tea). 🍃

For the tea-curious we also offer a tasting kit with ten (!) curated varieties. 🍵

It’s exciting to be able to fill a gap by providing a local option for high-quality Japanese tea. More to come, including teaware and tea-ducation! ☺️🍵

Acupuncture offers a research-backed, non-drug option that may help many people with the frustrating diagnosis of fibromyalgia feel and function better. Research suggests it can do so by influencing the body’s own pain‑modulating chemicals, including a messenger called neuropeptide Y.

Read all about the latest research into acupuncture for fibromyalgia-type pain, and how patients can get started with including acupuncture in their care plan for this condition, on our new blog post, https://www.bridgeacupuncture.com/blog/neuropeptide-y-acupuncture-actions-in-fibromyalgia-patients

After six years service to the Bridge community, our Faye is leaving us to find something more senior friendly and closer to her new home in Q-town. What will Bridge be like without her tirelessly friendly humor and creativity? ✨ It will be different, and we will miss her. 💔

We are happy to pass on any sentiments to our Faye if you will miss her too and wish to leave a card or gift at our office. Also, if you'd like to be invited to our Faye Appreciation Picnic (date TBD), DM here and we'll keep you in the loop.

It's not goodbye but tah tah for now. Thank you, Faye! 💫

Acupuncture can work exceptionally well for challenging vertigo cases. This patient had a diagnosis of chronic BPPV as well as vestibular migraine, starting after a concussion all the way back in 1990. Her case was complex with both peripheral (nerve or inner ear) and central (brain) causes.

With acupuncture alone, even after just one session she could immediately get better feedback from her vestibular system to correct her balance on a foam pad after removing eyesight (closed eyes).

We also performed various applied neurology exercises to help her vestibular integration with vision and proprioceptive senses, and taught her home exercises.

A month into her initial course of treatment she was solid as a rock. I’m happy to report this patient is still vertigo free, popping in for monthly prevention but doing quite well between visits.

Know anyone needing help with vertigo, even after a course of vestibular PT? Please, send them our way.

Next week! Spend your lunch hour with Dr. Grace at the Penn Medicine-Doylestown sponsored lecture series, "Walk with a Doc," on Weds February 18th from 12-12:30.

Walk with a Doc is a national "movement" started in 2005 by Dr. David Sabgir, a cardiologist in Columbus, Ohio. Frustrated with his inability to effect behavior change in the clinical setting, Dr. Sabgir invited his patients to go for a walk with him in a local park on a spring Saturday morning. To his surprise, many patients and community members showed up, energized and ready to move.

Now an official 501(c)3 nonprofit, Walk with a Doc inspires local chapters including our own here at Penn Medicine-Doylestown Hospital. At a typical event, a healthcare provider gives a brief presentation to the public on a health topic, and then leads participants on a walk. Did you know that walking just 30 minutes per day can significantly reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes?

For Dr. Grace's talk, she will give a brief overview of "The Science Behind the Ancient Art of Acupuncture." Participants will learn what scientific research says regarding the key mechanisms of acupuncture, and why such a surprisingly simple procedure has been shown to be beneficial for diverse health conditions including various types of pain, migraine and headache, nausea, fertility, allergies, and more.

Following the 10 minute talk there will be a Q&A, and then the group will "move with a doc" by performing a few simple, health-promoting Chinese Qi Gong exercises to promote circulation, mobility and vitality.

The event will take place at the Doylestown Township Recreation Center, 425 Wells Rd., near Central Park and the Kids Castle.

To sign up for the event, see the link at our events page, bridgeacupuncture.com/events or link in story.

Signing up is not required but you will be notified of any schedule changes due to weather events.

Congratulations to Misook Lee on completing her certification in Neuro-Meridian Integrative Acupuncture this weekend! Taught by Dr. Poney Chiang of this training covers the detailed neuroanatomy and neuroscience underlying acupuncture.

Over three intensive hands-on modules, the certification includes approaches for many common types of pain and orthopedic conditions, nerve entrapments, neuropathy, and central nervous system disorders. Students also must participate in two cadaver labs to deepen their understanding of clinical anatomy. And attend a karaoke party upon graduation (yes, Misook fulfilled her assignment!) 🎤

Misook now joins Dr. Grace Rollins as the second acupuncturist at Bridge to be certified under Dr. Chiang, as well as Rosanna Giuliani from our Chester County sister clinic . Grace and Rosanna had the honor of joining in with this weekend’s training as teaching assistants.

We are proud to offer acupuncture at Bridge informed by the important research and guidance of Dr. Chiang, which honors both classical acupuncture and modern science, shining a torch on their clear common ground.

Thank you to .collective for making this and so many great training opportunities possible. 🙏🏽
