How bad are you going to look after your first IPL treatment? It really does depend on how bad you look before we start. If you have lots of sun damage, brown spots or facial redness then, yes, you are going to have lots of brown speckles for 7 to 10 days after your treatment. You need to be prepared to wear extra makeup or to minimize zoom meetings.
However, if you’ve been taking excellent care of your skin and you have had IPL before you’re not going to see as much peppering as you did the first time.
My favorite analogy is the first time you clean your kitchen floor with a swiffer wet Jet…you turn over that pad and you see tons of dirt. But the next week when you mop your floor your turn over the pad and there’s not that much dirt. Frankly, it’s because the floor wasn’t that dirty. but if you like me, you want a perfectly clean floor.
You absolutely are going to see lots of “dirt” after your first IPL. There will be less each time after that.
In fact, many of my clients who are in a financial position to receive IPL on a regular basis report instant beautification of their skin after IPL. They don’t experience any downtime or any peppering. They are just going for the beautification and glow that happens after IPL.
