In a recent article from the Holistic Healing Center newsletter, the topic was how many of our cells regenerate and how managing stress can aid in that process.

Our team at the Holistic Healing Center is here to be of support offering lifestyle approaches; for example, yoga, HeartMath and meditation, can be of great help in this area. Debbie Garlits, our Lifestyle Support Specialist, can be helpful in exploring these various options. Leslie Carson offers personalized yoga sessions that are geared towards stress management and inner balance. Setting achievable goals and working with our Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach Susan Czerecki can also be of great support. Certain supplements are also helpful for stress reduction. We have options here at the office.

Consider these tips to save money at the grocery store while still eating healthy.

As many of you know, I love to go to the Farmers’ Markets and get our food locally and from farmers who have regenerative farming practices. I have learned much more about Regenerative Agriculture in the last year and have “grown” to realize its importance in supporting our health and the environment. I wrote an article in this week’s Holistic Healing Center newsletter.

In last week’s Holistic Healing Center newsletter article, the importance of good posture was discussed. Good posture is helpful for reducing a number of health issues and is also important for maintaining proper alignment for those with low bone density in the spine. Being aware of your posture while sitting and doing the proper stretches and occasional breaks to get up and move around can make a big difference.

What is yoga?

“In a nutshell, yoga is sattvika-samadhi. That is, yoga is to be stable in a clear, pleasant, and calm life experience. Such a state of mind and body is called sattva in Sanskrit. In the body, this state is experienced as vitality and wellness, without restlessness or dullness. In the mind, this is experienced as calmness, with clarity and energy. Generally, this is what all of us want in our lives.”

—p. ii in Hatha Yoga Pradipika, AG Mohan & Dr. Ganesh Mohan with notes from Krishnamacharya

In the recent Holistic Healing Center newsletter that came out 2/21/2022, I wrote about how very excited I am that Leslie Carson has recently joined our team. I have had the opportunity to witness Leslie's group Yoga at Peace Valley Park outside this summer and have worked with her individually.

Leslie will be supporting people in creating a personalized yoga practice on Zoom. She makes Yoga more approachable and meaningful for me and she emphasizes breathwork which really helps with emotional balance and centering. She will tailor the practice to the individual which is wonderful and her goal is that it is good for the mind, body and soul. I am happy to have Leslie introduce herself to all of you!
