Got Chronic Coronary Disease/stable angina? Compelling data presented at American College of Cardiology Meeting that is hard to ignore:
Abstract 1) In a pre-post EECP analysis of 1327 patients treated with EECP, significant improvements in angina (Seattle Angina Questionnaire, weekly episodes), dyspnea (Rose Dyspnea Score), fatigue (PROMIS), and functional capacity (Six-Minute Walk Test, METs) in both sexes were evident, with women demonstrating greater post-treatment improvements in all metrics except METs. Abstract 2) Randomized, controlled trial of 81 participants (547 lesions) from 9 centers (EECP: n=42; control: n=39), EECP significantly improved CT-derived fractional flow reserve (FFRCT) (primary endpoint) by 5.9% (95% CI: 3.8% - 8.1%) compared with controls, with ΔFFRCT reduced by 27.1% (95% CI: 13.1% - 36.6%) and wall shear stress (WSS) by 9.5% (95% CI: 4.6% - 14.8%). Seattle Angina Questionnaire scores improved more in EECP group (P
