I can’t believe dermatologists are still prescribing oral antibiotics long-term for acne.
Just last week, I had four new clients on antibiotics for longer than 60 days… for acne.
While there are specific cases where they might be necessary, it frustrates me that many don’t take the time to understand the patient’s unique situation and what’s truly causing their acne. Antibiotic resistance is rising, and we should only use them when absolutely necessary and life-saving!
I often see clients who tell me that doxycycline, minocycline, or tetracycline has stopped working or never worked. The truth is, they don’t stop working because your acne is “stubborn.”
They stop working because they were never designed to treat the root causes of acne.
👉 They temporarily reduce inflammation and bacteria, but they don’t address hormones, gut health, inflammation, or barrier dysfunction.
In end, they actually do more harm!
Over time, the body adapts, resistance builds, and results fade.
If acne keeps coming back, that’s information, not failure!! 🩷
