Whether you’re hopping on a plane, hitting the road, or chasing your kids through an airport - travel really takes a toll on your body. ✈️🏖️

Long hours of sitting, lugging heavy bags, sleeping in unfamiliar beds, and straying from your usual routine can all create extra stress on your spine and nervous system.

And, when your nervous system is already overwhelmed before you even leave? That’s when travel-related issues can pop up fast, like:

😵‍💫 Headaches
😴 Fatigue
😣 Digestive issues
😬 Stiff neck + low back tension
🧠 Brain fog or irritability

That’s why getting adjusted before you travel is a game changer for how your body handles the journey ahead!

A pre-travel adjustment helps:

✔️ Improve mobility + posture before long periods of sitting
✔️ Reduce nervous system stress so you stay more adaptable
✔️ Support digestion, immunity, and sleep while you’re away
✔️ Help you arrive feeling your best…not already rundown

So, before you hit the road or board that plane, take care of YOU!

Daylight Savings Time is here, and if you’re feeling a little more tired or off than usual, that’s totally understandable! 🌤️ Even a one-hour shift can throw off sleep, energy, and focus for a few days while your body adjusts.

The good news is there are some simple things you can do today to help your body settle into the new rhythm more smoothly:

☀️ Get outside for a few minutes – Natural light helps reset your internal clock and tells your brain when it’s time to be awake and alert.

🚶‍♀️ Move your body – Even 10 minutes of movement can boost your mood, energy, and even your ability to fall asleep later on. Whether it’s yoga, a quick walk, or a dance break - just get moving!

🕰 Shift your evening just a little earlier – Eating dinner, starting your wind-down routine, or getting kids ready for bed 15–20 minutes earlier can help your body ease into the new schedule without feeling rushed.

🛁 Keep bedtime simple and consistent tonight – Baths, books, and quiet time help signal to the nervous system that it’s time to slow down, which can make falling asleep easier after the time change.

🧠 Support your nervous system – When your nervous system is functioning well, your body adapts to changes like schedule shifts, sleep changes, and seasonal transitions much more efficiently. Chiropractic care helps support that adaptability so these changes feel easier to handle.

Most people feel back to normal within a few days. Give your body a little support, a little patience, and it will catch up. 🤍

How We Know When the Nervous System Is Carrying Too Much Load 😬

The nervous system is designed to handle stress - movement, busy days, crazy schedules, and all the curveballs that may get thrown your way. The issue isn’t stress itself. It’s when the nervous system doesn’t have enough opportunity to settle and recalibrate.

When the nervous system is carrying too much load, it often shows up in subtle ways before anything feels “wrong.”

We tend to notice things like:

* Energy that feels inconsistent or harder to sustain
* Feeling wired, tense, or overstimulated even during downtime
* Sleep that doesn’t feel as restorative as it should
* A slower bounce-back after stress, activity, or busy days

These patterns tell us the nervous system is working harder than it needs to.

Chiropractic care helps by supporting clearer communication between the brain and body, allowing the nervous system to regulate more efficiently. When that load is reduced, the body often feels lighter, more adaptable, and better able to handle daily demands!

Life may not slow down - but supporting the nervous system can help the body keep up with it more comfortably. ✨

When parents bring their kids into our office, they’re often thinking about a specific concern - sleep, focus, big emotions, frequent illness, or overall wellbeing. What we’re looking at goes a layer deeper. 🧐

A child’s nervous system is still developing. It’s responsible for how their body processes sensory input, regulates emotions, adapts to stress, and supports growth and development. 🧠 When that system is functioning well, kids tend to move through their days much easier.

Supporting a child’s nervous system isn’t about creating “perfect” behavior or eliminating challenges. It’s about building a strong foundation for how their body responds to the world around them. 💪🏻

When we talk about nervous system support for kids, we’re paying attention to things like:

* How easily they transition between activities, environments, or routines
* How their body handles stimulation, stress, and downtime
* How consistently sleep, digestion, and energy are supported
* How well they recover after busy days, growth spurts, or changes in routine

Chiropractic care focuses on how well the brain and body are communicating during these important stages of development. ✨ By supporting proper nervous system function, we help create the conditions for regulation, adaptability, and resilience to develop over time.

A well-supported nervous system doesn’t just help kids feel better today - it supports how they grow, adapt, and thrive as they move through each stage of childhood. 🫶🏼

We have some exciting news to share! 🤍 Dr. Lexi is slowly beginning her transition back into the office after welcoming her baby boy, Landon.

This has been such a meaningful season for her family, and we’re grateful she’s able to ease back in while still soaking up these precious newborn days at home.

She’ll be in the office during Spring Break on:

• Monday, March 16th (afternoon)
• Wednesday, March 18th (morning)

Appointments will be limited as she transitions back, so if you’ve been looking forward to getting on her schedule, we encourage you to plan ahead!

We are so excited to have her back serving families and supporting nervous systems again - and we know many of you will be just as happy to see her! Welcome back, Dr. Lexi! 👏🏻

Most of us are surrounded by noise all day long - and we hardly notice it anymore! TVs playing in the background, phones buzzing, music in the car, conversations, notifications, kids talking, dishes clattering…it’s just part of everyday life.

But, even when you’re not actively paying attention, your nervous system is still processing all of that input. Over time, constant background stimulation can make it harder for the body to truly relax and recharge.

Here are a few ways this can affect the nervous system:

🔊 The brain is always filtering input - Your nervous system is constantly deciding what to pay attention to and what to ignore. That filtering process takes energy, even when the noise seems minor.

😵‍💫 It can keep the body in a low-level “alert” state - Continuous stimulation makes it harder for the nervous system to fully shift into a calm, settled mode, which can impact sleep, focus, and energy.

🧩 It can make focus more difficult - When the brain is processing multiple sources of input, it has to work harder to concentrate on one thing at a time.

🌙 It can make it harder to unwind at the end of the day - If the nervous system is used to constant stimulation, true quiet can feel unfamiliar, and the body may take longer to settle.

This is one of the reasons we focus so much on nervous system regulation in our office! Chiropractic care helps support a more balanced nervous system, allowing the body to shift out of stress mode and into recovery more efficiently. When the brain and body communicate well, it’s easier to relax, focus, and recharge after busy days. 🤍

Moms…when you’re caring for a family, it’s easy to put yourself last. Not intentionally - it just happens. There’s always someone who needs something, somewhere to be, or something that feels more urgent. But, the way you feel in your body has a bigger impact on your family than most people realize.

When your nervous system is supported, everyday moments tend to feel different:

- You have more patience at the end of the day, even when things don’t go as planned.
- It’s easier to stay present instead of feeling mentally pulled in a dozen directions.
- Small stressors don’t escalate as quickly, because your body isn’t already running on empty.
- Connection feels more natural - conversations flow, listening feels easier, and home feels calmer.

Kids and partners are incredibly sensitive to this. They respond to your tone, your pace, and your presence just as much as your words. When your body feels steadier, that sense of calm often carries into the entire household.

Taking care of yourself isn’t about perfection or adding more to your plate. It’s about supporting your nervous system so you can show up at home feeling calm, present, and not completely spent.

When you feel more grounded, your family often feels it, too! 🤍

Dealing with Cedar Fever? 🌳🤧

Congestion, sinus pressure, fatigue, brain fog, and irritated eyes often reflect how the immune system, detox pathways, and inflammatory responses are functioning under that environmental load.

During this time of year, targeted nutritional support can help the body regulate its response and recover more efficiently after exposure.

Some of the supplements we frequently use each support a different piece of that process:

• Cataplex E
Provides antioxidant support that helps protect cellular membranes and respiratory tissues exposed to ongoing irritation. Vitamin E plays an important role in healthy immune signaling and tissue resilience during periods of inflammatory stress.

• Arginex
Supports liver and detoxification pathways involved in processing inflammatory byproducts and histamine. Efficient detox pathways often influence how intense symptoms feel and how quickly the body settles after exposure.

• Cyruta Plus
Supports vascular integrity and microcirculation. Healthy capillary function plays a role in sinus pressure, tissue irritation, and normal inflammatory response within delicate respiratory tissues.

These are supplements we keep available in our office when extra seasonal support feels helpful! If cedar season tends to hit you hard each year, we can help you choose options that support your body’s systems in a thoughtful, individualized way. ✨👏🏻

Many people come to Curis after trying different approaches without the progress they were hoping for. 😢 That doesn’t mean nothing will work…it often means something important hasn’t been fully addressed yet!

At Curis, chiropractic care plays a central role in how we support the body, because nervous system function influences healing, movement, and overall regulation.

From that foundation, our team incorporates additional therapies and treatments when appropriate, creating a multifaceted approach that supports each person from multiple angles. ✨

With over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Chae leads a team focused on identifying the cause of what’s interrupting your life - not just managing symptoms.

Every care plan begins with a dedicated exam, digital imaging when appropriate, and a thorough consultation. This allows us to understand what’s contributing to your concerns and determine how we can best support your healing!

When care is guided by clear answers and a comprehensive plan, people often experience meaningful changes - even when other approaches haven’t helped. 🫶🏼

If you’ve been looking for a more complete approach, we would love to connect with you! Get in touch with our team by calling 512.858.9355! 😃

One of the things we love most about chiropractic care is watching the ripple effect it creates! 🌊

Sometimes people begin because they’re uncomfortable, discouraged, or simply tired of feeling limited. And over time, something shifts - not just physically, but in the way they show up for themselves. 🫶🏼

As the nervous system becomes more supported, many people notice it feels easier to make choices that align with their health. ✨

We are so honored when our office is the place patients begin prioritizing themselves in ways they hadn’t before!
