When it comes to our own health, many adults fall into a pattern of reacting to symptoms and trying to push through whatever the body is feeling. 😐 But what if we started looking at health through a different lens…one that supports how the body functions, adapts, and recovers over time? 🧐

Here are 3 simple mindset shifts that can help support a more proactive approach to your health:

🌿 From “waiting until something hurts” → to “supporting how the body functions”
Instead of only paying attention once pain appears, it can be helpful to support the systems that keep the body running well every day. The nervous system plays a central role in coordinating movement, recovery, digestion, sleep, and stress regulation.

🧠 From “pushing through stress” → to “helping the nervous system regulate”
Busy schedules, work demands, and daily responsibilities can keep the body in a constant state of tension. Supporting the nervous system helps the body shift out of stress mode so it can recover and adapt more efficiently.

⚡ From “quick fixes” → to “building long-term resilience”
Many people are looking for ways to improve energy, sleep, focus, and overall well-being. Supporting nervous system function helps the body regulate those systems more consistently over time.

Chiropractic care focuses on supporting how the nervous system processes and responds to stress. As that function improves, the body is often better able to regulate, recover, and stay more consistent throughout the day! 🙂

Most people assume a headache starts in the head. But more often than not, it started somewhere else entirely. 👀

That pressure in your temples, the tightness wrapping around your forehead, the dull ache sitting right behind your eyes - by the time you feel it there, tension has usually been building through your neck and shoulders for hours.

Between screen time, the mental load of keeping up with everything, and a nervous system that rarely gets a real chance to power down, the body can stay in a state of low-grade tension for most of the day without you even realizing it. And muscles that never fully relax have a way of eventually making themselves known. 😬

It tends to show up in patterns like:

* headaches that pop up everyday like clockwork
* a persistent ache at the base of the skull that stretches up into the head
* tension that wraps from the neck around the forehead like a band
* relief that only lasts a few hours before it all starts building again

This is your body’s way of reflecting how much tension your nervous system has been holding onto - without nearly enough opportunity to release it.

Chiropractic care supports how the nervous system regulates tension throughout the body. When that improves, most people notice fewer headaches, less tightness through the neck and shoulders, and a body that actually feels like it can exhale at the end of the day. ✨

If headaches have become just another part of your routine, that’s worth paying attention to. Your body is trying to get your attention - we can help you figure out why! 🤍

Founder’s Week is one of our favorite times of year, and we are SO ready to celebrate with our Dripping Springs community. 🎉 From the parade to the cook-off, there’s a lot of moving, walking, and festivities ahead - and we want to make sure you’re feeling your best for all of it.

That’s where chiropractic comes in! ☺️ Your spine houses and protects your nervous system - the master control center that runs everything from your energy levels and muscle function to how well your body handles the physical demands of a busy, fun-filled day.

When your spine is properly aligned, your nervous system can communicate freely and efficiently, so your body can keep up with every moment of the fun. 🎡

Book your adjustment before the weekend and go enjoy every bit of it. 🙌

Happy Founder’s Week, Dripping Springs! 💙

You’ve checked everything on the list. They’re fed. They’re dry. The temperature is fine. And they’re still inconsolable. 😔 When a baby is consistently uncomfortable and nothing obvious explains it, most parents are told to just wait it out.

But if it keeps happening, it’s worth looking a little deeper. 💖

A baby’s nervous system is still learning how to regulate between states of alertness and rest. When that system is functioning well, babies are able to settle more easily, stay calm through gentle transitions, and shift between active and comfortable states without much difficulty.

When it’s under stress - from birth interventions, tension in the spine, or simply the overwhelming amount of input a new little nervous system is processing every single day - that regulation becomes harder.

You might also notice:

🍼 arching away from you during feeds or when being held
🤱🏻 preferring to be held in one direction over the other
🧑🏼‍🍼 difficulty staying latched or feeding comfortably
👶🏻 a startle response that seems extra sensitive
😢 general fussiness that doesn’t have an obvious cause

None of these things mean something is terribly wrong. They’re often just signs of a nervous system that needs a little extra support finding its settled state.

Chiropractic care for babies is incredibly gentle - nothing like what you might picture for an adult. It focuses on releasing tension and supporting clear communication between the brain and body so your baby’s nervous system can regulate more easily.

When that happens, so many parents describe it the same way - their baby just seems more comfortable in their own body. 🤍

Every office has its own feel…and it matters more than people think! ☺️

At Curis, one of the things patients notice right away is how different the atmosphere feels. It’s not overly clinical or rushed, but it’s also not just a place you come to “hang out.” There’s an intentional balance between feeling comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely cared for.

You’ll hear laughter. You’ll see familiar faces. You’ll feel the energy of a team that truly enjoys what they do!

And at the same time, there’s a calm, grounded presence to the space. The kind that helps your body settle in, take a breath, and shift out of the constant go-go-go most people are used to. 🫶🏼

That combination matters, because how your body responds to care isn’t just about what’s done…it’s also about the environment it’s done in.

No two patients are the same, and your care shouldn’t feel like it is. 😉

We take the time to understand what’s going on with you, how your body has been adapting, and what kind of support will actually make a difference. From there, everything is tailored to fit you, your goals, and what your body needs right now.

It’s a place where you can feel at ease, but also feel confident that you’re receiving thoughtful, individualized care every step of the way. ✨

If you’ve been looking for something that feels a little different, we’d love to welcome you in! 🩵

Few things are more unsettling than suddenly feeling dizzy or off balance. 😵‍💫 Vertigo can come on quickly and make even simple movements - standing up, turning your head, or walking across the room - feel uncomfortable or disorienting.

Most people associate vertigo strictly with the inner ear, but your sense of balance actually depends on several systems working together.

Your brain constantly receives information from:

• the inner ear, which detects motion and head position
• the eyes, which help orient your body in space
• the spine and nervous system, which send signals about posture and movement

All of these signals travel to the brain so it can interpret where your body is and how it should adjust to stay balanced. ⚖️ When that communication becomes disrupted, the brain can receive mixed messages - which may contribute to sensations like spinning, dizziness, or feeling unsteady.

Several things can influence this process, including:

• tension or restricted movement in the upper neck
• past head or neck injuries
• changes in inner ear function
• stress on the nervous system affecting coordination and balance

The upper cervical spine plays an especially important role because it contains a high concentration of nerve pathways and sensory receptors that help the brain track head position and movement. 🧠

Chiropractic care focuses on restoring healthy motion in the spine and supporting clear communication within the nervous system. When the body’s balance systems are able to communicate more effectively, many people notice improvements in stability, coordination, and overall comfort.

When everything is working together the way it’s designed to, the body does a remarkable job keeping you steady and grounded. 🙏🏻

Many parents notice that their baby falls asleep peacefully in their arms…but wakes almost immediately once they’re placed in the crib. 🤦🏻 While this can feel frustrating (and exhausting), it’s actually very common in early development.

A baby’s nervous system is still learning how to regulate and settle. Being held provides warmth, movement, and a sense of security that can help the nervous system relax. 💖

When babies are laid down, especially after a stimulating day, their nervous system may have a harder time maintaining that same calm, regulated state.

For some babies, this can look like:

• falling asleep easily when being held or rocked
• waking shortly after being placed in the crib
• needing motion to stay asleep
• settling quickly once they are picked up again

As the nervous system matures, babies gradually become better at transitioning between sleep cycles and settling more independently.

Chiropractic care for infants uses extremely gentle techniques to help relieve tension and support healthy nervous system function. As the nervous system becomes more balanced, many babies are able to settle more comfortably and experience more restful sleep. 💤
