What's a Visual Field Test?

We promise it's not just the world's least fun video game! A visual field test measures your entire scope of vision, including your peripheral (side) vision. It's an essential part of an eye exam for many patients due to eye health issues. It detects problems and defects that might not affect your central vision.

Why Might You Need It?

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month, and today we're raising awareness about Diabetic Macular Edema- a serious condition affecting those with diabetes.

Diabetic Macular Edema occurs when high blood sugar levels damage the blood vessels in the retina, leading to fluid buildup in the macula, the part of the eye responsible for sharp central vision. This can result in blurry vision, difficulty reading, and even vision loss if left untreated.

Diabetic eye conditions, like macular edema, can develop without any early symptoms. That's why regular eye exams are crucial for detection and treatment. If you or a loved one has diabetes, make sure to schedule an annual eye exam to protect your vision!

Applicants need to be comfortable working with computers, motivated, work well in a group setting, and enjoy interfacing with the public. We provide on-the-job training as needed, but previous office experience is preferred. Applicant must be available to work in both the DuBois and Reynoldsville locations.

Job Duties Include:
- Performing optometric tests
- Recording patient information
- Contact Lens training
- Working with electronic records
- Clerical duties
- Appointment scheduling
- Ordering Contact Lenses
- Customer Service

Office hours are Mon-Thurs 8-5:30 and Fri 8-4:30, no weekends!
