Cancer.
We avoid the word like the plague.
We whisper it.
We tiptoe around it.
But maybe we should be talking about it more.
Because when you look at the stats from 20 years ago to now… something has changed. It feels like it’s everywhere. In our families. In our friend groups. In our client lists. Younger and younger.
And today, there’s a young lady especially heavy on my mind.
It’s shaking me.
Not in panic.
Not in fear.
But in this deep, unsettled question: What more can we do?
What’s in our food now compared to 20 years ago?
How many chemicals are we exposed to daily?
What about the chronic stress we’ve normalized?
The toxins in our homes, our products, our environment?
I don’t claim to have the answers.
But I am committed to learning.
One word that keeps coming up for me lately: oxidative stress.
Cellular damage. Inflammation. An internal environment where disease can thrive.
So I’m diving deeper.
• Reducing processed foods
• Exploring ketogenic approaches to stabilize blood sugar and lower inflammation
• Prioritizing high-quality proteins and healthy fats
• Supporting detox pathways
• Focusing on key vitamins and minerals
• Increasing antioxidants
• Being intentional about supplementation
And maybe most importantly…
Lowering stress. Slowing down. Sleeping better. Getting sunlight. Moving daily. Breathing.
This isn’t about extremes.
It’s about awareness.
It’s about responsibility.
It’s about asking better questions.
If we can’t control everything, what can we control?
What if we each changed one or two habits?
What if we stopped avoiding the conversation and started having it?
I don’t know all the answers.
But I know doing nothing doesn’t sit right with me.
And today… I’m holding space for a young lady who deserves more time. 💛 Please keep Lauren & her family in your prayers.
