We’re excited to recognize Sara as this month’s Employee of the Month!

Sara has been part of the Aveanna family for over two years. She originally joined us as a Home Health Aide and later returned as a CNA, continuing to make a positive impact on every patient she cares for. Sara is always willing to pick up shifts and works with multiple patients, providing compassionate care to both adults and pediatrics.

When asked what keeps her here, Sara says it’s the patients she cares for and the great team in the office. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Oakley, baking, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles (though we can’t all agree with that one!).

We’re so grateful for Sara’s dedication, flexibility, and teamwork. Thank you, Sara, for all that you do!

Meet Brydie, our Veteran Liaison!

Brydie has been part of our Aveanna team for over four years. Her relationships with VA hospitals across PA, NY, and NJ allow us to provide more skilled and unskilled care to our veterans within the DuBois community. In her role, Brydie has increased VA referrals, VA SOC, and hours retained to help support the DuBois and other teams with branch commitment.

"I value the dedicated care we provide to veterans, especially veterans who live alone with limited or no family support," said Brydie. "No veteran should struggle to gain their independence and dignity of living at home."

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her mother who lives with her. They love to travel, pamper themselves to spa days, and enjoy fun casino trips!

"To anyone who has a loved one or someone they care for with special needs and is considering nursing support — I can’t express enough what a true blessing it has been for our family to be matched with a nurse through Aveanna.

Our daughter is epileptic, autistic, and has developmental delays. Though she’s 10 years old, she’s mentally about 5 — and she is the sweetest, most precious blessing in our lives. Finding the right nurse felt overwhelming at first, but the process with Aveanna was so smooth and easy. Within just a few days, we were introduced to a potential nurse, and the moment we met her, we knew she was the perfect fit. November is Epilepsy Awareness Month, an important time to boost awareness, educate the public, and advocate for increased funding and research on epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a brain disorder that triggers recurring, unprovoked seizures. It can result from various factors such as stroke, brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, or infections of the central nervous system. The CDC estimates that approximately 3.4 million people in the US live with epilepsy, and about 456,000 of this number are children.

Aveanna is proud to support many individuals with epilepsy. Today is World Diabetes Day, a chance for us to educate our communities on diabetes and support those living with it.

Diabetes is a chronic condition that occurs when the body cannot use insulin properly to regulate blood sugar levels. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body produces little to no insulin because the immune system attacks the cells that produce it. Type 2 diabetes, the most common type, occurs when the body produces insulin, but the cells do not respond well to it.

Meet Lindley, our DuBois Clinical Director!

Lindley has been part of our Aveanna team for nearly 4 years. She started out as an LPN Supervisor, then moved into the RN Supervisor role, and now she's been our Clinical Director for the last year and a half!

"I got into nursing because I love helping people and caring for their loved ones," said Lindley. "Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cheering on my boys at their soccer games, camping, and getting creative with crafting."
