Today, we had a friendly snowball competition in therapy. Residents took turns throwing “snowballs” into the net to see who could score the most points! We have a very competitive group!

Meet the Team Spotlight: Phyllis Brown 🌟

This week's spotlight is on Phyllis Brown, who has been a cherished member of our community for an impressive 27 years. Phyllis began her journey with us as a PCN and has diligently worked her way up to become our MDS Coordinator.

Phyllis finds joy in sharing laughter with the residents, making each day brighter for everyone. Her coworkers often describe her as a loving Christian woman, earning her the affectionate title of “mom of the building.”

Outside of work, Phyllis cherishes time with her family, including her one son, four grandchildren, and her furry companions—Cole the dog and Hoodie Bell the cat. 🐾

In her free time, Phyllis enjoys attending church, her garden, and exploring thrift shops for hidden

Meet the Team: Marilyn Francis 🌟

This week, it’s a pleasure to recognize Marilyn Francis, an incredible nurse who has been a cornerstone of DuQuoin Nursing and Rehab for an astounding 40 1/2 years! As Marilyn puts it, she “grew up here.” This was her first job as a nurse, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Marilyn truly values her coworkers, and it's the stability and warmth of our community that have kept her dedicated for so many years. In her downtime, Marilyn loves relaxing with her favorite TV shows and spending time with her adorable 1-year-old full-blooded American bulldog.

Marilyn is also a proud mother to four children—three boys and one girl—and a doting grandmother to her 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter, Riley.

We are incredibly grateful to have Marilyn as part of our team. Her dedication and love for our community are inspiring. Thank you, Marilyn, for your unwavering commitment and the warmth you bring to everyone around you. ❤️
