In honor of Halloween, we thought we’d share a little bit about some of our favorite scary stories: Botched Botox! 😱 😱 The internet loves to see and share Botox horror stories — some true and many false — making it hard for those interested in the procedure to know whether or not it is truly safe.

When administered by a licensed professional, Botox is a safe and effective injectable treatment used to address wrinkles and facial aging.

The majority of “botched” Botox treatments we see are a result of:

👻 An unlicensed or inexperienced provider
👻 Un-specialized care or rushed appointments
👻 Too much Botox in certain areas, such as the frontalis muscle or the forehead.

Anyone else already excited to share in their kid’s Halloween candy haul? 🍫😉 Our approach to diet and sugar is much like our approach to all things: moderate and personal.

An unbalanced, processed-sugar-laden diet can contribute to increased signs of aging and poor skin health. But that’s not going to happen overnight! A poor diet takes a long time to contribute to skin aging.

So go ahead and enjoy those haunted treats — just
don’t let them become your main food group!

Q: I am interested in getting lip filler but don’t know much about the different kinds — is that a problem?

A: No. By no means do you need to be an expert on Juvederm or other products to confidently book an appointment. Dr. Okada will recommend a type of filler for you based on your goals and make sure you understand and approve that recommendation prior to treatment.

Dr. Okada uses the Juvederm line and generally recommends either the Juvéderm Ultra XC or Juvéderm Volbella, depending on a patient’s goals.
