Care for Yourself So You Can Care for Others
When you spend your days helping others, it’s easy to forget your own needs.
But a healthy caregiver means better care for everyone.
At Omatochi, we understand the emotional and physical effort that goes into caregiving. That’s why we’re here to support caregivers with tools, connection, and compassion — so you never have to do it alone.
Tips to nurture yourself:
- Take short breaks during the day
- Eat balanced meals
- Ask for help when you need it
- Stay connected with loved ones
Your wellbeing matters too. 💛

💜 Caregiving isn’t just a job! It’s a calling.

This week, two of our amazing Caregiver Companions shared what it’s like to make a difference every day!

At Omatochi, we’re proud of our caregivers who lead with heart, turning everyday care into moments of connection and comfort. 🌿

This Halloween, we’re celebrating more than costumes and candy. We’re celebrating memories. 🎃
At Omatochi, we encourage storytelling that connects generations and keeps traditions alive.
Because sometimes, caring starts with simply listening. 💜

🌊 Omatochi Takes Monterey! 💙

Our team hit the road for a Hiring Party, meeting amazing people, spreading the word about caregiving, and sharing what Omatochi care is all about. 💫

From schools to community centers, we brought the energy, the heart, and of course — Omateddy and our matching Omatochi jackets! 🧸✨

We’re growing a community of caregivers who care with compassion, connection, and purpose. 💛

💜 Nothing makes us prouder than hearing from our clients.
At our recent Aging Well Expo and Provider Summit, Renee, an Omatochi client, spoke openly about her experience with our services. Her words reminded us why we do this work — to make a real difference in the lives of seniors and families.
Hearing directly from those we serve is the most powerful affirmation that we are on the right path: building trust, creating impact, and uplifting our community. 🌿
Thank you, Renee, for your courage and kindness in sharing your story and for inspiring us to keep striving for better care every day.

🌿 Aging Well Expo: Contra Costa Edition!
Last month, we brought connection, knowledge, and joy to the Marina Community Center in Contra Costa County!

We kicked off with warm welcomes from Deka D**e (CEO, Omatochi) and Ken Maxey (CEO, Urban League of Greater SF Bay Area), followed by our signature Banana Dance 🍌🕺

🗣️ Our CalAIM Provider Panel—featuring Avanina Cayetano, Renee Gerson (Omatochi), Bella Bunkers (MomsMeals), Emma Hodson (18Reasons), and Anita Lofton (Kaiser Permanente)—shared how ECM & Community Supports are transforming senior care.

💸 The Financial Planning & Fraud Panel with Alex Cadenas (CDFPI) and Alexander Amaro & Steve Machado (New York Life) gave seniors tools to protect their future. Deka and Ken also joined in to emphasize just how vital these conversations are.

💃 Tatum Elshire (BluePath) kept us moving with a joyful activity to close out a day full of learning, laughter, and connection.

Next stop: Monterey — because aging well should happen everywhere. ✨

Today is World Mental Health Day 🧠💚
At Omatochi, we know that caring for others starts with caring for ourselves.
So we asked our team:
“What’s one small thing you do to calm your mind?”
Their answers are simple, human, and beautifully honest.
Because mental wellness matters—at every age, in every role, and every day. 🌿

Omatochi at CAHP 2025: Building Connections, Shaping the Future of Care
CAHP gave us three full days of purpose: we kicked off with the first-ever Giveback, packing meals with ModifyHealth, COPE Health Solutions, CityServe, and The Way World Outreach for families in San Bernardino, Pomona, and L.A.—proof that small acts create big impact. 💜

From there, it was connection and learning nonstop: DHCS 2025+ updates, Medicare changes, payment strategies, and real talk on reducing friction between providers and plans. We met incredible partners in care, swapped ideas we can put to work immediately, and—yes—shared a lot of smiles with Omateddy, our Chief Hug Officer. 🧸

Travel and back-to-backs? Yep. But we’re heading home grateful, energized, and ready to keep building kinder, more inclusive care for seniors and caregivers. Thank you, CAHP—see you next year!
