Last week, members of our Bound Tree team participated in two impactful national EMS events: the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA) 2026 Conference and EMS on the Hill in Washington, DC.

The NEMSMA Conference brought together EMS leaders from across the country, creating space for collaboration, innovation, and forward-thinking discussions on the evolving role of EMS within healthcare and public safety.

Following the conference, Bound Tree was proud to join more than 350 members of NAEMT for EMS on the Hill Day. Our team participated in over 50 meetings with congressional members and staff across seven states, advocating for critical legislation such as H.R. 2538 and S.3145—the CARE Act of 2025—key to supporting pre-hospital care and the financial stability of EMS agencies nationwide.

These events reinforce the importance of strong leadership and continued advocacy for EMS first responders and the communities you serve.

💬 The best part about working for Bound Tree is 100% our customers. We have the chance to serve the best people this country has to offer: our first responders. It is a privilege and an honor to play a small part in what they do every day.

✈️ Fun fact: I have been to 25 states and 18 countries, I also used to jump out of airplanes for a living.

Children of career or volunteer EMTs, Paramedics, or Firefighters can apply for financial support to help ease the cost of EMT or Paramedic education. Since launching the program in 2004, we’ve awarded scholarships to more than 500 future EMS professionals nationwide—and we’re just getting started.

Last week, we were proud to recognize Representative Mike Carey (R-OH), a national leader in EMS advocacy, with Bound Tree Medical’s 2025 EMS Legislator of the Year Award.

Rep. Carey has worked tirelessly in support of the EMS profession by educating fellow members of the House Ways & Means Committee and other colleagues in Congress on the importance of treatment in place (TIP) legislation. EMS agencies, paramedics and EMTs provide medical treatment and preventive care services in their communities every day and often without being reimbursed. Rep. Carey introduced the CARE Act (H.R. 2538) which would establish a Medicare pilot program to show the effectiveness of fair pay to first responders for such services. We are grateful for his initiative and support to address reimbursement for all patient care services provided by EMS agencies.
