PLEASE...keep your horses at home and be proactive with your horse professionals. Each of us needs to be in control of the safety of our horses.
We are firm believers that no horse is safe no matter what discipline of riding is your choice. Horse professionals and vendors come across many disciplines and could most likely spread the virus through tools used, clothing worn including footwear. EHV-1 EHV-4 EHM are all extremely dangerous viruses that spread quickly and act quickly in a contaminated horse. Contact your veterinarian or go to the state vet websites to find your information. REMEMBER...even if your horse has not left the property there could be a possibility of transfer from a horse professional.
We realize this is a difficult time when futurities and big events are still going on, weather is cooperating to still trail ride, and much more but the best way to stop the cycle is to stay home and stay safe!

In 2016 I received a call from Katie Kimble Chism with her quivering voice just wanting to save the horse that had done so much her. I gathered our staff and veterinarian the next morning and we made a plan for the arrival of Shadow and a plan for his rehabilitation. He was in our critical care unit and for the first 30 days it was extraordinarily quiet as we knew if he made one wrong move it could be over for him and for Katie. We had an owner that trusted us to be 5 hours away and take care of her horse. Shadow stayed with us for over a year and he became one of our own. The day he left was full of joy because we were successful and tears filled our faces as we wouldn't be sharing him anymore. His injury and rehabilitation was a long journey and we celebrate that he had so many years to enjoy after. Katie we send our prayers for peace in your heart as Shadow grazes in the horse heavens.
