It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our dear friend, Dr. George Evans. Dr. Evans became a close friend of Dublin Eye in the late 70s through his close bonds with Dr. Jones and then Dr. Smalley; teaming up with both of them on dozens of medical mission trips to Honduras and Jamaica. Dr. Evans touched countless people over the years, from those he served to those that he carried along to serve with.

"As we bid farewell to Dr. George Holden Evans, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. His memory will be cherished, and his impact will be felt for generations to come. Dr. Evans's life was a testament to the profound difference one person can make in the world, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him."

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month!

Over time, Diabetes can cause damage to your eyes that can lead to poor vision or even blindness. But you can take steps to prevent diabetic eye disease, or keep it from getting worse, by taking care of your diabetes.

Two of the main ways to prevent Diabetes from negatively impacting your vision are to watch your overall health like blood glucose, blood pressure, etc.. as well as getting an annual dilated eye exam.

📣BIG📣ANNOUNCEMENT!
We are thrilled to introduce to you, Dr. John Green, M.D. and his family.

Dr. Green will be joining our practice in January and brings with him his expertise in anterior segment and cataract surgery. He comes here from Jackson, Mississippi where he's been serving veterans at the VA for the past decade.

We have known Dr. Green for many years and some of our present and past eye team have served with him on the foreign mission field. Dr. Green has a heart for helping others and that is evident in the compassionate care that he provides.

We are now scheduling patients for him beginning in January. Please help me welcome Dr. Green.

Many of you are in open enrollment for your insurance. Here's a tid-bit of information to help you determine if you need vision insurance or health insurance for your eyes.

❌Vision Insurance is intended for vision care and correction. Usually covers a routine vision exam each year and may also contribute towards certain glasses or contacts. Dublin Eye Associates DOES NOT ACCEPT VISION INSURANCE.

✅Health Insurance is intended to cover full health exams of the eyes; also for ongoing care of eye diseases. This includes dilated eye exams and other ancillary testing. In most cases vision testing is also done during your eye health exam to help determine refractive error for glasses or contacts. Typically our examinations are covered by most health insurances that we are in network with.

Dr. Kara Clark (East) joined Dublin Eye in 2019 and quickly became a vital part of our practice. Dr. Clark provides comprehensive eyecare including routine vision testing, specialty contacts & glasses, and following & treating eye disease.
