This month, our community is celebrating “Welcome to Ireland”🍀 In addition to our wonderful activities we are bringing residents together through music, culture, delicious food, and shared experiences. From Irish dancers and St. Patrick’s Day festivities to creative art classes and special outings, our residents have something to look forward to nearly every day!

Meet our new Executive Director!

We’re excited to introduce Christian to the Sunset Park Place family! Christian is from Lowden, Iowa, and is a proud husband and father to two little boys. Outside of work, you’ll likely find him racing at Dubuque Speedway on Sunday nights 🏁 or camping and making memories with his family 🏕️.

Long-term care has always been close to Christian’s heart, and he’s committed to making it his lifelong career. He’s excited to bring new, fresh ideas and looks forward to making a positive impact here at Sunset Park Place.

🛒✨ Out & About with Sunset Park Place ✨🛒

Today our residents took a field trip down the aisles at Hy-Vee — you know, the place “where there’s a helpful smile in every aisle,” and trust us… our residents gave them plenty to smile about!

Our residents at Sunset Park Place absolutely LOVE their grocery outings. There was lots of chatting, cart-rolling, and maybe even a treat or two sneaking into the baskets 😉 And Hy-Vee always makes the experience wonderful!

We left with full carts and even fuller hearts. 🥰

ADVENTURE AWAITS IN 2026! We are inviting residents to pack their imaginary bags and embark on a year long global adventure! 💼

Today we hosted a kickoff party and learned about where this adventure will take us! 🌏

Each month we will "travel" to a new destination - exploring its culture, traditions, food, music and history through engaging programs and meaningful experiences. ✈️🎫

Each destination is designed to support the six dimensions of wellness - ensuring that every program nurtures mind, body, and spirit. 🤓💪😇
