We see them all- big and small!

Rehabilitation and fitness can be suited to any size dog.

You may wonder how the underwater treadmill works with a very tall or very short dog...we can adjust the water level!

The water (it's warm, you know) can be set to a specific depth based on the dog's leg length and also to what they can handle during their rehab or strength programs.

Shallow Water is easier to walk in and encourages dogs to lift their limbs. It also increases range of motion in joints.
Deep Water is more of a challenge and increases muscle strengthening and resistance.

We met foster-dog Tango in July of 2024.

He had sustained a back injury and was surrendered to a rescue.

Since then, a group of dedicated volunteers has brought Tango in between 2-3 times per week from the Cedar Rapids area.

The rescue, A Purposeful Life, did an absolutely AMAZING job with Tango.

We said a tearful goodbye to Tango at the end of January- he is headed to a Sanctuary in Colorado.

We are so proud of him and his team! Go Team Tango!

We LOVE to hear how you (and your dogs) feel about our care.

As Doug mentioned, we offer a variety of services such as:
- pet grooming (with nail trims!)
- 1:1 canine fitness sessions
- minor surgeries (don't worry, Doug healed up just fine, even though he was upset)
- and visits with Dr. Katie for all kinds of things.

And a whole lot more.

If a dog is limping, we often recommend taking sedated x-rays.

Why do we sedate?

X-rays require some stretching, manipulating, and positioning that would be impossible on even the calmest of dogs.

Dr. Katie also performs an exam while the dog is sedated, and being able to manipulate the joint or area while the dog is completely relaxed can, at times, give her a lot of information.

In general, x-ray is a great way to see things we can't see with the naked eye!
