Promise of Hope, Inc.

Promise of Hope, Inc. A residential program for those with a drug/alcohol problem. We have men's and women's facilities. We provide residential care for ages 18 and over.

Our women's program is located in Dudley, GA and our men's program in Cochran, GA. We are a 12 month phase program, consisting of three phases. Additionally, we are a work program, which enables the residents to become responsible for themselves, and accept financial responsibility for time in the program. They have a safe environment to experience the realities of life, where they learn to process their daily struggles and prepare to return to society. Promise of Hope provides tools that help strengthen the resident's ability to build a personal relationship with Christ, handle cravings, and address personality conflicts in the personal relationships, work place, and in society at large. These tools include promises from God's Word, prayer, 12-step program guidance, and living and communication skills. Our Family Meetings are a very successful component of our program. Education is important in learning how to stop enabling the bad behavior. Most family members don't realize their actions are helping the self destructive lifestyle to continue. Statistics show when the family members get better, the addict or alcoholic gets better sooner. Attending Family Meetings helps understanding of the process of recovery to occur.

Here are their "Goodbye Addiction" letters:

I checked into Promise of Hope on November 11th, 2024, with the need to quit drinking. Over the past year, I have attended may meetings and faithfully attended weekly church. I have learned many tools to help live a sober life. I plan to move forward from my experience here and live my better life. Goodbye, Addiction.
- Lee
Dear Addiction,
There is a saying that the hardest thing to do in life is say goodbye. This includes all relationships, including my relationship with you. We have been through a lot together. This started off with plenty of happy moments. There came a point where I thought I would never have to part with you. Now it is time to say goodbye.
I believed that the more I poured into you, the less I would have to worry about my other problems. For a while, everything seemed fine. Eventually, I realized that I was wrong. You started to take more than you gave. In fact, you stopped giving at all. You took everything away from me. You took my job, you took my friends, you even took my family.
In order for things to get better, I have to let you go. I am stronger without you. I am returning to the life I know God wants me to have. So, to my addiction, this is goodbye. I never want to see you again.
-Cliff
