Promise of Hope, Inc.

Promise of Hope, Inc. A residential program for those with a drug/alcohol problem. We have men's and women's facilities. We provide residential care for ages 18 and over.

Our women's program is located in Dudley, GA and our men's program in Cochran, GA. We are a 12 month phase program, consisting of three phases. Additionally, we are a work program, which enables the residents to become responsible for themselves, and accept financial responsibility for time in the program. They have a safe environment to experience the realities of life, where they learn to process their daily struggles and prepare to return to society. Promise of Hope provides tools that help strengthen the resident's ability to build a personal relationship with Christ, handle cravings, and address personality conflicts in the personal relationships, work place, and in society at large. These tools include promises from God's Word, prayer, 12-step program guidance, and living and communication skills. Our Family Meetings are a very successful component of our program. Education is important in learning how to stop enabling the bad behavior. Most family members don't realize their actions are helping the self destructive lifestyle to continue. Statistics show when the family members get better, the addict or alcoholic gets better sooner. Attending Family Meetings helps understanding of the process of recovery to occur.

Please help us congratulate Breanna for completing Promise of Hope this week! Here is her goodbye letter to her addiction.

To my addiction,
For a while, I thought you were my friend. You showed up when I was hurting, you told me you could quiet my thoughts, and make everything feel easier. At first, I felt relief and a sense of escape. What you really were was a thief; you stole my time, you stole my health, you stole my relationships, you stole pieces of who I was meant to be, and you convinced me I needed you to survive. You told me I wasn't strong enough without you, you whispered lies when I was tired, lonely, ashamed, and afraid. For a while, I believed you. Here's the truth: I am still here, and I am stronger than you ever wanted me to realize. For almost a year, I have been choosing something different. I have been choosing clarity over chaos, healing over hiding, and accountability over excuses. It hasn't been easy. Some days it has felt impossible, but every day I stay sober. It's proof that you no longer control me. You don't own me, and you don't define me. I am learning who I am without you, and I like her. She feels real. There may be days when you creep back in, but I'm no longer bound to you. I am so ready for my new Journey with God!

Help us congratulate Kendra on completing Promise of Hope yesterday!! Here is her goodbye letter to her addiction.
For a long time, you pretended to be my escape. You promised relief, confidence, and numbness, but you always took more than you gave. You stole my time, my peace, and pieces of who I was. You made small moments heavy, and turned good days into something fragile. I see clearly now. You are not my friend, solution, or my future. You are a chain, and I'm choosing to take it off! Letting you go isn't easy, but staying with you costs me everything. I choose my health, growth, the people who care about me, and the life I want to build. I choose honesty over hiding, strength over shortcuts, and hope over fear. There will be hard days, and I know you may try to come back disguised as comfort. When that happens, I will remember why I said goodbye! I will remember that I deserve clarity, safety, and a real chance at happiness. This is the end of our story. I am moving forward without you.
