Here’s a MAJOR challenge and a way to test your hamstring strength side to side.
Start in a reverse plank on your elbows, lifting your hips up with straight legs. IF (and only if) you can do this, then try to lift one leg up.
⏱ Time yourself on one side.
⏱ Time yourself on the other side.
Are the times different? This would indicate you have weakness on one side over the other.
Can’t lift your leg at all? We should probably work on a little hamstring strength with you.
Again, this test is hard, but it’s a great one in revealing asymmetry in hamstring strength. Lots of folks will not be able to lift a leg—not a problem, but certainly an opportunity to work on some weakness.
