July is National Bereaved Parents Month. Grieving the loss of a child remains a stigmatized and disenfranchised type of grief.

If you are a parent navigating life without your baby, know that your grief deserves space, understanding, and validation.

Connecting with a professional, going to support groups, and turning to trusted family and friends who can witness your grief are important parts of living alongside grief.

This grief doesn’t go away; it endures. You don’t have to do be in it alone.

World Health Day is today, April 7.

This year’s campaign, “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures” center maternal and newborn care. The emphasis is on ending preventable maternal and newborn deaths; prioritizing women’s health and wellbeing; expanding access and information available; and to demand that health systems LISTEN to mothers and families.

Remember: if she’s not healthy, our community isn’t healthy, and the future isn’t healthy either.
