🤍Habits that can change your pregnancy!

So often I feel like folks just look at pregnancy as preparation for birth. But pregnancy is not just about getting to the finish line. It’s a season of it’s own. A season of growth, connection, intuition, strength and trust.

Having been through five times myself, I also understand it can feel overwhelming, exhausting and confusing.

That’s why I know that small, steady things can make a big difference in creating a pregnancy that feels nourished and connected.

The way you nourish your body.
The way you move.
The questions you ask.
The support you choose.
The moments you pause long enough to listen to what your body might be asking for.

A few simple habits can make a powerful difference:
✨ daily movement that supports your changing body
✨ nourishing foods and minerals
✨ learning your options and understanding your choices
✨ building a birth team that makes you feel safe, seen, and supported
✨ creating rhythms that lower stress and help you feel grounded

These things may seem small, but they ripple outward.
They can shape how you feel in your body, how you prepare for birth, and how confidently you walk into the months ahead.

You do not need to add more, just adjust. Even slow down.
You need support, information, and simple habits that help you feel more at home in your pregnancy.

If you’ve been craving a gentler, more rooted way to prepare for birth, this is your reminder:
the little things matter.

One of my favorite parts of prenatal visits is watching partners step into their role.

Not as spectators.
Not as someone nervously standing in the corner.

But as someone who knows how to support, advocate, and walk through labor together.

Partners are your safe space. Yes, you hire a Doula to do a lot of the work. But sometimes our best place is moving out of the way for YOUR *PERSON* to be all you need.

So it’s one of the best parts to help equip them with the tools and knowledge too!

(And these usually end up being some of my favorite photos to snap, too, when partners are working together!

One of the questions I get asked a lot is…

“What’ do you bring to a birth?”

The short answer?
Quite a lot.

So let’s take a dive into what’s in my Doula bag…

Tools to support movement and positioning
Birth balls, peanut balls, yoga blocks, stools, and even a birth swing to help mothers move in ways that create space for baby.

Tools for comfort during labor
Essential oils, heating packs, a TENS unit, combs, and massage tools for those intense moments when contractions build.

Tools for positioning and support
My rebozo is one of my favorites for helping encourage movement and comfort during labor.

Tools to help create a calm birth environment
Twinkle lights, flameless candles, a speaker for music, and affirmation cards to help set the tone of the space.

And of course…
snacks and hydration for the long hours of labor.

But the truth is, the tools I reach for the most aren’t in my bag.

They’re my hands and my words.

A steady hand or hip squeeze during a contraction.
Encouragement when a mother starts to doubt herself.
Gentle reminders that she is strong, capable, and doing something incredible.

The tools are helpful.

But the real work of a doula is holding the space.

One of the questions I get asked a lot is,

“Do you get to hold the babies?”

Sometimes. But that’s not the part that fills my heart.
(Although ya’ll know this mama of five can always get down on some baby snuggles).

What I love most is witnessing the strength of mothers, supporting partners as they step into their role, and holding space for families during one of the most transformative days of their lives.

It’s an incredible privilege to walk alongside families in this season.

✨What are some ways you felt held by a Doula? Or what ways would you love to have encouragement in?

Some births unfold exactly as imagined.
Others ask us to soften, breathe deeper, and walk a different path than the one we mapped.

Birth can be unpredictable. We prepare. We learn. We gather tools and knowledge for the kind of experience we hope for. And then we practice something just as important…

…surrender when things ebb and flow.

Mindset matters.
So does the willingness to trust your body, your baby, and the unfolding of the moment.

But there is another piece that quietly shapes everything:

WHO IS IN YOUR SPACE.

The energy in the room.
The voices that guide or interrupt.
The people who either protect your vision or unintentionally pull it apart.

Sometimes my role means working a little harder to help advocate for the plans a family has thoughtfully made. And that advocacy is something I hold with deep care.

But on some beautiful occasions—like this birth—we are blessed with a team that quite literally works to hold the new parents and each other up.

Nurses. Providers. Partners.
Everyone moving with respect, patience, and trust.

And when this immense connection, safety, and cohesion come together, even the harder experiences allow you to feel held and supported.

That kind of birth space is powerful.
It changes how a story is carried long after the baby is in your arms.

It is always my honor to help protect that space. 🤍

✨ If you’re expecting and wondering what it would feel like to have someone beside you advocating, encouraging, and holding steady when birth ebbs and flows… I would love to walk that journey with you.

A special thank you to this family .sventek for allowing me to bear witness and offer support during their journey. And for permission to share these photos.

New Year, New Services!

Over the years, I’ve learned something important:
not everyone needs (or wants) the same kind of support—and that’s okay.

So I’ve created Pregnancy & Postpartum Support Sessions that allow me to meet families exactly where they are in their journey. 🌿

Whether you’re:
🤍 wanting help with birth planning
🤍 craving emotional support or a “pregnancy bestie”
🤍 preparing your body for birth
🤍 planning for postpartum rest and nourishment
🤍 or wanting comprehensive care even when I can’t be on call for your birth

…there’s now space for that here.

✨ Current doula clients: these sessions can be added on for extra support
✨ Not hiring a doula? You’re still so welcome here
✨ Want layered, thoughtful preparation? I’ve got you

Support doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing. It gets to be flexible. It gets to evolve. It gets to fit you.

You can explore all the new offerings and book directly through my website 🤍

What I’ve Been Working On Lately…

I shared a glimpse of this in my stories yesterday, and I’m so excited to finally put words to it.

I am still deep in the midst of Body Ready Method Pro Training but I’ve begun integrating Body Ready Method (BRM) into my doula care—a whole-body, proactive approach to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It looks at how the upper body, core, pelvis, pelvic floor, and movement patterns all work together to support a more comfortable pregnancy, an efficient birth, and steadier healing afterward.

This isn’t about fixing or perfecting your body.
It’s about awareness, alignment, and giving your body the support it needs to do what it already knows how to do.

If your curious about what this would look like for your pregnancy, let’s set up a complimentary consultation❤️❤️

When you’re faced with a choice in pregnancy or labor —whether it’s an induction, a cervical check, or a “routine” test , remember:
you have time to pause and use your B.R.A.I.N.

✨ B — Benefits:
What are the benefits of this procedure or option?
How might it help me or my baby right now?

✨ R — Risks:
What are the risks or possible downsides?
How common are they?

✨ A — Alternatives:
Are there other options?
Could we wait, rest, move, hydrate, or try something else first?

✨ I — Intuition:
What does your gut say?
How does your body feel hearing this suggestion?
(The intuition piece is often overlooked and is So very important!)

✨ N — Nothing:
What happens if we do nothing for an hour… or for now?

⸻

This simple pause invites clarity.
It keeps you in the driver’s seat of your birth story — informed, confident, and connected to your body’s wisdom.

Have you practiced using your B.R.A.I.N. questions yet?

Good News!
Your body already knows how to birth your baby.
You just have to support the process.
💫 Each hormone plays its part: Oxytocin (love + labor), Endorphins (pain relief), Adrenaline (strength), Prolactin (bonding). Create safety, calm, warmth → your hormones flow like a symphony.
