Animal Kingdom Chiropractic

Animal Kingdom Chiropractic Animals love us unconditionally. They wait long hours for us to come home, or to come out to the barn or pasture.

Dr. Claudia Cottrell of Animal Kingdom Chiropractic has 30 years of chiropractic experience and is certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. They depend on us for shelter, food, physical care, and love. As an animal chiropractor, my personal mission is to assist in nurturing that human-animal relationship. By providing chiropractic care, animals benefit by being healthier, being stronger, being happier, and living longer. Witnessing the smile on an animal's face - and their person's face - makes my day.

Hello Friends, this is a photo of my friend Jo Paull and her dog Erie. Jo passed away in December a year ago and now Erie is in need of a loving home for her senior years. She is a very sweet girl and has lived as an only dog in the home for at least 4 years, but she did well with other dogs before that. I'm not sure of her breed, but if there is interest from someone, I will direct you to Jo's sister. Let's find this dear dog a forever home.

In Minnesota we have a state law that requires owners of pets to get a referral from their veterinarians in order to seek chiropractic care. Many states are changing those laws so that fully licensed and certified animal chiropractors are portal of entry doctors, meaning that no referral is needed. My complaint is that too many times a vet will refuse to grant a referral for chiropractic for an animal that really needs care. And many times when I question the reason, it is based on lack of knowledge about chiropractic. If the veterinarians are to be gate keepers to chiropractic care for animals, the least they could do is educate themselves on the chiropractic profession. When this happens, that animal has to suffer when chiropractic could most likely help their condition. If your vet tells you that medication and/or surgery is your only option, it may be time to find a new vet.

Proper exercise and weight control is critical for your pets, just as it is for people. At least one daily walk at a distance your dog can handle easily should be part of their day. Some dogs require more if they are an active breed or if they don't have a safe yard to spend time in every day. Exercise is also good for their mental health because they love to be outdoors and smell all the smells. And a walk provides a sense of adventure outside of their home and yard.
Obesity is at a high level, over 50% for dogs and cats in the U.S. So exercise is vitally important to help your pet stay healthy and to control weight. I have realized that some people don't measure their pets food and that can cause overeating, especially in dogs who are highly food motivated. And of course, there's the subject of quality dog food. A good resource for your pets food in our area is Matilda's Dog Bakery & Boutique. They know so much about good nutrition for your dogs and cats. Another company I like for raw food is Woody's Pet Food Deli in the cities. They have 3 locations and provide high quality, sustainably raised meats.
Paying more for quality pet food pays off with having a healthier pet and avoiding vet bills.
