👋 Hey everyone! We know… we’ve been a little too quiet on here lately, but we’re back and ready to reconnect!

First things first— If you have not already met him, we would like to introduce the man, the myth, the legend, Sammy! He may seem quiet but he was willing to answer a few questions to get to know him if you haven't had the opportunity to meet him!

Piece of advice Sammy lives by:
"Do the right thing, even when no one is watching - especially when it comes to resident care and safety."

Join us for “Beaks, Bubbles, and Burrows” on September 10th at 2:00 PM as we learn about the fascinating creatures that call Alaska’s waters home and discover how they adapt and thrive in their unique environment! 🐧🫧🐦

Alaska may not have penguins, but we do have Alcids and diving sea ducks! These incredible diving seabirds live in the Arctic and sub-Arctic waters around Alaska. And, unlike penguins, they can fly as well as dive. See how they stay warm in the cold ocean, and find out what other adaptations allow them to dive underwater, catch fish, and dig burrows. Featured birds: tufted & horned puffins, common murres, rhinoceros auklets, pigeon guillemots, eiders, smews, and harlequin ducks.
