A festive Battle of the Bars crowned Nut Goodie Bars as the first-place winner, followed by a wonderful violin class performance that set the holiday mood. Many favorites were played, especially ‘Silent Night.’

A candy cane themed day?! Yes please!

We enjoyed a candy cane game filled with great competition. Hot chocolate topped with frosty whipped cream and candy canes made the perfect refreshment.

We just can’t handle all the festiveness here at Ecumen Lakeshore! So many team members and residents joined in by wearing their favorite Christmas characters, and we kicked off the day with a special performance by the East High School Choir. It was a fun day for all!

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Toni the Turkey and Heather from Life Enrichment visited throughout the building to spread Thanksgiving joy.

From November 1–24, our community came together to collect food donations, and we’re thrilled to share that we reached a grand total of 623.8 pounds!

All donations were delivered to Second Harvest Northland, whose motto inspires us: “Let’s Make This Season a Thanksgiving for All.”

Last year, we collected 450 pounds, so we’re celebrating a big increase this year thanks to the generosity of our residents, families, and team members.

What will next year bring? We can’t wait to find out! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and helped make a difference.

Ecumen Lakeshore was thrilled to host “Coffee with a Cop” featuring Officer Josh Aubart and his K9 partner, Vili!

During their visit, we learned about the extensive training required to work with a K9, the daily responsibilities of caring for one, and the unique experiences that come with having a K9 partner. Josh answered many questions and gave us a firsthand look at what it’s like to have Vili by his side.

A big thank you to the Duluth Police Department for sharing your time and talents with us—and for giving our community such a memorable experience!

We celebrated Shelly, Dining Assistant for her 15 years of service at Ecumen Lakeshore.

Shelly brings her smile and her laughter to every table she serves whether it be our residents, team members or guests of Lakeshore. Thank you, Shelly, we are so glad you said you were looking forward to 15 more!

We kicked off deer season and the cooler weather with a Chili Bar Social! Staff and residents enjoyed spending time together while savoring chili with all the fixings and warm cornbread—true comfort food that warms the soul. And of course, deer hunting at its best happens right here at the Ecumen Hunting Shack. After all, “What happens at the shack, stays at the shack.”
