😟 If you don’t know what has been happening, I sent this letter to the Minnesota Department of Human Services today. What do you think? 😫😣

‼️Chiropractic Saves Health Care Costs AND LIVES‼️
“According to the MN Attorney General’s Office, data from the Minnesota Department of Health shows that from 2020 to 2021, opioid-involved overdose deaths increased by 44%, to an all-time high of 978 deaths in 2021.
Chronic pain is one of the most significant factors, and those with lower socioeconomic status being at higher risk.
Funding treatment programs for those already addicted to opioids is NOT enough.
Chiropractic is a tried and true, low cost, drug free option to effectively allow the body to heal pain and injuries, alleviating the need of opioids.
While the plan to end chiropractic coverage for adults under Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare plans seems to save costs for the Department of Human Services, as explained below, it does not. With that being the case doing so in the midst of an opioid epidemic is an unscientific disregard for the lives of a vulnerable population.
It is well documented that chiropractic care is a low cost and effective means of improving health in all areas, and avoiding more expensive tests and procedures.
Studies have found chiropractic care leads to significant cost savings and better outcomes by reducing hospitalizations and chronic issues compared to other care options.
We must make the wise choice while acting for the health of our community and keep chiropractic coverage in our state. Do not let this change pass.
Thank you.”
