An awesome therapist has her courses on a big sale right now. I've taken one from her and found it really helpful. Any of them would be great for any time of life, but the Self-Care and Body Image courses could be awesome for anyone in the postpartum period. We are hosting a postpartum motherhood panel for our last session in our prenatal education series.

Pregnant or postpartum individuals are welcome!! Babies are welcome 🤗

Our panel includes a handful of local mothers eager to share about their own thoughts on intuition and postpartum. They bring so much wisdom and insight into navigating this season. A time to connect, share, support, and learn. I honestly can’t wait for this.

The panel will be in-person on 6/1 at 10:00am at the Empower clinic location.

The majority of the lactation clients I see postpartum and frankly, most women I talk to, felt unprepared for postpartum. They did not get the kind of breastfeeding education they needed. (Me included.) Most women I talk to wish they would have had better support and a better understanding of how to prepare for this period. Kirsten from Empower Ortho & Pelvic Health and I met to talk about this issue (something she sees constantly as well) and we have worked to create a series that will discuss: feeding, sleep (for the whole family), adjusting to work, matrescence, pumping, preparing your body for birth, your pelvic floor, seeking support and more. This series starts in 2 days and we have 2 sign ups. As big as this issue is, I would love to see more sign ups. Really excited to be teaching a breastfeeding class again. And thrilled to be working with pelvic floor therapists Kirsten DesMarais and Mercedes Stein. I did not even know what the pelvic floor was when I had my first baby 12 years ago. (And I also did not take a breastfeeding class 🤦‍♀️) I have benefited from pelvic floor therapy postpartum and by preparing prenatally for my 4th birth, it went so much smoother than my previous births. Preparing our minds and bodies for the realities of postpartum helps to create the environment in which we can truly connect and thrive postpartum. Hope to see you in the series!
