In 1999, Denim Day began after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a sexual assault conviction, claiming the survivor’s jeans were so tight that she must have helped remove them. An argument rooted in harmful victim-blaming.

In response, people around the world began wearing denim as a visible stand against these myths and in solidarity with survivors.

Get ready with us for the weekly PAVSA Art Group, a safe space dedicated to expressing yourself. This open group is held in the Building for Women every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00PM.🖌️

We’re collaborating with in this year’s 3rd Annual Gender Joy Art Show! Our contribution features artwork created by survivors in our art support group. This show runs 5/4 - 6/27 with an opening reception on Thursday 5/7 from 5-7pm at Zeitgeist. ✨
