Illness is spreading fast right now, and as families, caregivers, and community members, we all play a role in protecting one another.
If you or your children are sick: fever, cough, body aches, “just getting over it”,staying home is an act of care, not fear. Especially for babies, pregnant people, postpartum families, elders, and those who are immunocompromised, exposure can be serious and sometimes dangerous.

As a doula, I work closely with families during some of their most vulnerable seasons. Newborns, healing bodies, sleep-deprived parents, and families without the ability to miss work are deeply impacted when illness spreads unnecessarily.
“It’s just the flu” may feel manageable for some, but for others it can mean hospitalizations, missed income, delayed healing, and real risk.
Choosing to rest at home when you’re sick is community care.
Protecting others is part of loving our families well.

🌍 Happy World Breastfeeding Month! 🌸

This month, we celebrate the incredible journey of breastfeeding—whether you’re nursing, pumping, or doing a combination of both. As a mom who has nursed and pumped for five children, I’ve experienced the highs and the challenges, the early morning feedings, and the quiet bonding moments. It’s a journey that’s different for every family, but it’s one that deserves support, understanding, and celebration.

Breastfeeding isn’t just about feeding; it’s about connection. It’s about providing your baby with the nourishment they need to grow and thrive, both physically and emotionally. It’s about empowerment, confidence, and the strength of a parent’s love.

Whether you're just starting your breastfeeding journey, pumping, or have been on this path for years, know that you’re doing amazing. Take pride in your path, and remember, it’s okay to seek help and ask for support when you need it.

As a birth and postpartum doula, I am here to walk with you, offering guidance and encouragement along the way. You’ve got this! 💪🏽

🌼 Antenatal Expression: Preparing Your Body & Baby 🌼

Did you know you can start collecting colostrum before your baby arrives? This is called antenatal expression, and it can be a powerful tool—especially if you're planning a hospital birth or have conditions like gestational diabetes, PCOS, or plan to be separated from baby after birth.

✨ What is it?
Antenatal expression is the gentle hand-expression of colostrum (the first milk) during late pregnancy, usually starting around 36–37 weeks, with guidance from your care provider.

✨ Why do it?
– Helps you learn your breasts & milk flow
– Builds confidence for breastfeeding
– Gives baby an early boost if needed after birth
– Supports bonding, even before baby is born

As your doula, I can help guide you through when, why, and how to express colostrum safely. It's just another way to feel empowered and prepared for your birthing journey 💛
