Andrew, a staff member at our Prairie Home, was selected as our Metro West Employee of the Month!
Andrew is the best. When you watch him in action, you can see that he truly cares about the folks he works with. Below is the nomination he received:
"Since joining AHL, Andrew has been an incredible asset to the Prairie House team. He consistently goes above and beyond to enrich the lives of the individuals we support, always researching activities and community events and even assisting PC in planning a large group trip to the Minnesota Zoo this past summer. On his own time, Andrew thoughtfully purchases special snacks and delights in surprising the guys, ensuring everyone feels included and valued.
Andrew excels at managing his time and attention so that no one ever feels left out, and he is always willing to step in to support coworkers and PC when staffing is tight. After volunteering to help fill overnight openings at Prairie, he consistently worked 60-hour weeks for over a year without hesitation. More recently, during a severe snowstorm when two staff members were unable to make it to work—one due to sliding into a ditch—Andrew finished his full day at Prairie and then volunteered to assist at Boulder, despite never having worked with that team before, simply because he knew help was needed. While at Boulder, Andrew also demonstrates exceptional professionalism and skill, including flawlessly de-escalating and redirecting a client who was insisting on going to the hospital.
He brings a positive attitude and genuine smile to work every day, and it is clear through his actions how deeply he cares about building strong, meaningful caregiving relationships with each individual he supports. Andrew truly loves what he does, has a heart perfectly suited for this field, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him on our team."
