Hi everyone! We are open for business and have been taking new patients the last few weeks. We have made changes, of course, to protect our patients, my staff, and the families of both. Right now the staff is just me and my super fabulous husband, Benedict. Our front door is locked so that we can assure that only one patient is in the office at a time. We wipe down all patient contact surfaces and I have sterilizing air purifiers in the waiting and testing rooms. We ask you try to come in alone, or have just one parent or caregiver in at a time. Everyone over 5 needs to wear a mask. If you just need a hearing aid repair, call us first and we will get it from you in the parking lot. If you need supplies, we will also provide those curbside. Present patients who need an appointment for hearing issues are welcome! Give us a call and we will make a plan for curbside vs. in-office appointment.

I want to thank my patients for understanding that COVID 19 has created some changes in office protocol. Wait time for appointments and hearing aid fittings has increased. I appreciate your patience while we work our way through this difficult time.

Hello everyone! I’m getting things up and running! I’m working alone right now. I made calls to get some patients in next week for appointments. I am still reserving appointments for those who need my services to hear. I ran around a lot today servicing hearing aid repairs curbside. It was raining for a while but it felt good getting in and out, and a little wet.

Thank you to my patients who are being very kind and understanding of the difficulties we are all experiencing. ❤️❤️

Hi everyone!

I will be in the office every day this week. My doors are locked. I will see people mostly curbside for hearing aid repairs and some in-office sessions as warranted. I finally have decent PPE. Also keep in mind I am working alone without an assistant. I will be installing a Ring doorbell this week that will allow me to communicate with patients from my door. All non essential services (like non-emergent hearing tests) will be rescheduled to a later date.

I am trying to get repaired aids and fittings of new aids to those with moderate to profound losses to patients that need them. I will be practicing safe health standards along the way. Only one patient will be allowed in the office at a time. Bring a loved one only if you need them for assistance.

Children with hearing loss who do not have adequate amplification will be my priority.

I am seeing patients by appointment only and based on the urgency of the issue. My door is locked, and I will be in and out of the office. Please leave a voicemail or you can email me at amy_goodwine@ascenthearing.net. I am practicing measures to keep us all safe. This includes social distancing. I have gloves, but unfortunately no mask. That means I can repair hearing aids, but no services that require me to come in close patient contact. Luckily, my wonderful sister is making me a mask with a replaceable filter. Unfortunately, she is in my home state of Missouri and it's still going to be a few days until I receive it.

So right now: call and leave a message or email me if you have an urgent issue. I understand that if your hearing aid malfunctions that can be devastating. I will get back to you within 24 hours.

Right now I am not taking any new patients unless it is a medical emergency. Most hearing loss issues are not a medical emergency, but if you experience a sudden drop in hearing please call us. If you have noticed that your hearing has gotten slowly worse over time, please wait until June to call us.

I have some hearing aids here that were recently repaired or are new aids ready to be fit. Leave a message or email me and we can figure out the best strategy.
