One year ago today, Teresa McMahon stepped into the role of Executive Director of Vantage Health System, and she hasn't looked back.

(Okay, she looked back once. We caught it on camera. 📸)

In all seriousness... what a year it has been.

Teresa walked into this role with big shoes to fill, a team that was ready to run, and a Bergen County community that needed a steady, passionate, and deeply human leader at the helm. And that is exactly what she has been.

In the past 12 months, she has led with heart, shown up for her team, championed the people we serve, and never once lost sight of why Vantage exists...

to make sure that every person who walks through our doors feels seen, supported, and never alone.

David laid an extraordinary foundation. Teresa is building something incredible on top of it.

What was NOT on the agenda: our VP & COO, Kris Pendy, getting stopped dead in her tracks by a wild turkey with absolutely zero respect for her title.

Kris handles complex operations and clinical leadership across all of Bergen County without missing a beat.

5 years. That's how long Sione Douglas has been showing up for Vantage Health System and for the Bergen County community we serve together.

Since joining our team in March 2020, Sione has been a dedicated, compassionate, and deeply committed member of the Vantage family. The care and resilience she brings to this work every single day is something her colleagues see and feel and we could not be more proud to call her one of our own.

And now, Bergen Community College is telling her story too.

Sione is currently pursuing her associate degree in social work at BCC, and her journey is nothing short of extraordinary.

A mother of four, grandmother of nineteen, and survivor of domestic violence, she returned to school after nearly 40 years to formalize what she has always lived: a calling to serve others.
"Returning to school taught me that 'it is never too late' is not simply a cliché." That spirit is exactly why she belongs here at Vantage.
