And just like that — Englewood got their turn. 💜

Today we welcomed representatives from Aflac Insurance and Visions Federal Credit Union to our Englewood location for the second stop of their Bergen County visit — and our team did not disappoint with the questions.

From supplemental insurance coverage to credit union benefits, debt payoff strategies, and lower interest rate options, our Englewood staff had the chance to sit down one-on-one with real experts who came directly to them.

No call centers. No hold music. No runaround — just clear, personalized guidance from people who genuinely wanted to help.

Today our Dumont team got a little extra support, and we loved it. 💜

This morning, we welcomed representatives from two of our valued community partners, Aflac Insurance and Visions Federal Credit Union, to our Dumont offices for an on-site resource event designed specifically for our staff.

From supplemental insurance options to financial planning, debt management, and credit union benefits, our team had the opportunity to sit down one-on-one with real experts, ask real questions, and walk away with real answers. No call centers. No hold music. Just genuine, individualized guidance.

At Vantage Health System, we talk every day about the importance of taking care of yourself so you can take care of others. Events like today are us putting that belief into practice for our own team.

At Vantage Health System, we believe that the most important leadership often happens where no one is watching — at midnight when a resident is in crisis, at 6am when a housing emergency needs to be resolved, and in every quiet moment when someone chooses to show up with both professionalism and heart.

That is Nicole Volmer every single day.

As our Director of Residential and Community Support Services, Nicole leads the team responsible for some of our most vulnerable Bergen County residents — individuals navigating complex mental health and addiction challenges who need not just housing, but genuine, person-centered care.

She oversees our group homes, supportive housing programs, community support services, and independent living programs, and she does it with a standard of excellence and compassion that sets the tone for everyone around her.

Nicole was recently nominated for the 2026 Courage and Compassion Award — Outstanding Leader in Adult Services, presented by the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies. And while the recognition is well deserved, those of us who work alongside her know: she has never done this work for the accolades.

She does it because individuals who might otherwise face homelessness, instability, or isolation deserve a roof over their heads, a warm meal, and someone in their corner — and Nicole makes sure they have all three.

We are deeply proud to have her leading this work at Vantage. 💜

Some words stop you in your tracks.

Today, we share a note from a client whose life was profoundly changed by one of our own — Zahava Ortzman, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Vantage Health System.

Zahava has been practicing for over 50 years. Let that sink in for a moment.

Fifty years of showing up. Fifty years of sitting with people in their hardest moments. Fifty years of holding space, offering guidance, and believing in people — sometimes before they could believe in themselves.

The note is a reminder of why this work matters. Not the paperwork, not the meetings, not the documentation — but the moment when one person, in the hands of the right clinician, realizes that things can be different. Zahava is that clinician for so many people. She has been for half a century.

We are in awe of her gifts, her compassion, and her unwavering commitment to this field and to every person who has trusted her with their story.

Zahava — thank you. From your Vantage family, from Bergen County, and from every life you have quietly, profoundly changed. 💜

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending the Ramapo College Social Work Career Fair — and we left genuinely inspired.

The Trustees Pavilion was filled with passionate, motivated social work students who showed up dressed professionally, resumes in hand, and ready to talk about building a career that means something.

That kind of energy is exactly what the behavioral health field needs more of — and it was on full display at Ramapo.

We had the opportunity to connect with the next generation of social workers, share what makes Vantage Health System a place worth building a career, and hear firsthand why so many young professionals are drawn to this work.

To every student we spoke with yesterday: we see your drive, and this field is lucky to have you coming.

A huge thank you to Kaetlynn Ayala, LSW and the entire Ramapo College Social Work Program for organizing such a well-run, meaningful event. The care you put into connecting students with community organizations is felt — and we are grateful to be part of it.

One year ago today, Teresa McMahon stepped into the role of Executive Director of Vantage Health System, and she hasn't looked back.

In all seriousness... what a year it has been.

Teresa walked into this role with big shoes to fill, a team that was ready to run, and a Bergen County community that needed a steady, passionate, and deeply human leader at the helm. And that is exactly what she has been.

In the past 12 months, she has led with heart, shown up for her team, championed the people we serve, and never once lost sight of why Vantage exists...

to make sure that every person who walks through our doors feels seen, supported, and never alone.

David laid an extraordinary foundation. Teresa is building something incredible on top of it.

What was NOT on the agenda: our VP & COO, Kris Pendy, getting stopped dead in her tracks by a wild turkey with absolutely zero respect for her title.

Kris handles complex operations and clinical leadership across all of Bergen County without missing a beat.
