In our FAQ series - this time:

"Is it okay to let a baby sleep with a soft pillow or cushion? It just seems like they sleep so much better that way..."👶💭

This question came up recently in a parent group, and I thought it’s worth sharing here too 💬

From a developmental and safety standpoint - absolutely not!

A baby’s body is already designed to sleep safely and comfortably. Their head should always rest freely, without any extra support underneath.

A soft pillow or cushion might look cozy, but it can actually be dangerous, especially for little ones who can’t yet lift or turn their heads on their own.

So, keep the sleep surface flat and firm, and let your baby move naturally while resting. 💤

Their body is built for it. ❤️

Tired of mealtime battles?
You’re not alone, and it doesn’t have to stay this way.

The secret to calmer meals isn’t in what you serve… it’s in how you connect.
Sit together
Let them lead
Skip the pressure
Keep it consistent
Be their role model

Every small moment counts, one calm bite, one happy mealtime at a time.
You’ve got this.

Babies are never lazy!!!

If your baby isn’t reaching milestones the way you expected, it’s not about willpower it’s a sign they may need some support.

Gentle guidance can make progress easier and help your baby feel confident exploring the world.

The good news? At this stage, small changes make a big difference. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it works!

Frequent use of the baby bouncer can look convenient, but here’s the truth:

It limits movement
It blocks sensory and motor exploration
It reduces variety of positions
It keeps babies passive, instead of letting them act, explore, and learn.

For your baby, this often becomes ‘dead time’ for development.

Use it with care - and if your baby is already in the bouncer, try adding opportunities: reaching for toys, grabbing, kicking, touching, and interacting.”

Most of us can sit or crawl on sand or grass without a second thought.

But for some babies, that touch feels overwhelming. In this video, a little girl crawls on the beach, carefully keeping her knees off the sand.

Sometimes it’s just a phase. But if this becomes the main way of moving even at home it may signal hypersensitivity, which can limit exploration and the experiences babies need to grow and develop.

💛 The good news: with gentle support, babies can get comfortable, explore more, and grow with confidence.

Baby bouncers are convenient but from a developmental point of view, frequent use can be limiting.

In practice, the bouncer:

Restrains movement

Blocks sensory and motor exploration

Reduces variety of positions

Keeps babies passive instead of letting them act on their environment, try, and learn.

That’s why, for motor development, extended bouncer time is often ‘dead time.’

💡 Use the bouncer with judgment. And if your baby is already in it, create opportunities for activity: encourage reaching, grabbing, kicking, and interacting with different toys. Every bit of movement helps them learn.”

Have you ever been told to ‘just wait and see’ when you had concerns about your child’s development?

Some children do catch up, but sometimes waiting means missing the right time for support.

Signs your child may need support with speech or early communication:

Not babbling by 9 months
Doesn’t respond to their name
Few or no words by 18 months
Limited eye contact or gestures
Gets frustrated often when trying to express needs

Every child develops differently. But if something feels off, trust your instincts. You don’t have to figure it out on your own.

When we think of ‘emotional regulation,’ it’s easy to picture calm breathing or a child sitting quietly. But in real life, regulation in toddlers and preschoolers looks different.

It’s your toddler taking deep breaths after a big cry.

It’s your preschooler saying ‘all done’ or walking away from a game.

It’s messy but it’s progress.

Every meltdown, every recovery, every attempt to calm down builds your child’s ability to handle big feelings over time.

Swipe through for realistic examples of what regulation looks like at different ages and remember, progress doesn’t mean perfection.”

Moms, I’d love your wisdom!

Parents often ask me about toys, books, or everyday products that truly support a child’s development.

Since this is such a common question, I’m putting together a list of tried-and-true favorites to share with families - and I’d love your input.

What products have made a real difference for your child’s learning, play, or growth? These could be toys you recommend, books that became favorites, feeding tools, shoes, or items that helped with motor skills, sensory development, or speech/communication - really anything your child loved or that made life easier for you as a parent.

If you can, please also share a photo of the product or a link to it, so others can easily find it.

Your ideas will help me build a list of parent-tested favorites that can truly support other families.

Thank you! 💛
