Today we celebrate strength, creativity, and resilience, including those in the IDD community who continue to break barriers, inspire change, and enrich our world every day.

We also recognize pioneers like Brad Lomax, a Black disability rights advocate whose leadership during the 504 Sit-In helped push forward accessibility and civil rights protections for people with disabilities. His story reminds us how advocacy, intersectionality, and community support can create lasting change.

At The Arc, we believe inclusion means honoring every person’s story, culture, abilities, and voice. Black history is not only history, it’s living, evolving, and present in the achievements, leadership, and contributions we see all around us.

Let’s continue learning, listening, and supporting one another this month and beyond

Today we celebrate the strength, achievements, and lasting impact of Black leaders, advocates, artists, and innovators, including those who have championed inclusion and equal opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We also recognize Dr. Sylvia Walker, a pioneering educator, researcher, and disability rights advocate whose work helped expand opportunities and visibility for people with disabilities, especially within Black communities. Her leadership continues to inspire more inclusive education, services, and advocacy today.

At our agency, we honor diversity every day by supporting individuals of all backgrounds to live full, empowered lives. Representation, accessibility, and respect matter, not just this month, but always.

Let’s continue learning, uplifting voices, and building a community where everyone belongs.

This Black History Month, we celebrate the achievements, culture, and lasting impact of Black leaders, innovators, creators, and communities who have helped shape our world.

We’re grateful for the diversity, strength, and inspiration that comes from honoring these stories, not just in February, but every day. Thank you for being part of a community that values respect, inclusion, and continued learning.

Today, we honor Lois Curtis and her advocacy for the right of people to live, thrive, and fully participate in their communities. Her efforts helped highlight the importance of dignity, inclusion, and equal access, reminding us that strong communities are built when everyone has the opportunity to belong. ♥️

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Brandon Clemons, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

As a Case Manager, Brandon dedicated his work to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, always leading with compassion, patience, and respect. He believed deeply in the people he served and worked tirelessly to ensure they felt supported, empowered, and seen.

Within our organization, he was known for his kindness and unwavering commitment to others, even during his own difficult journey.

Through him, we learned the enduring strength of the human spirit, that sometimes simply showing up is the most important thing you can do, and that a hard day isn’t the same as a bad one.

He inspired us to be better humans, and we will miss him deeply.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all who loved him. ♥️

Due to weather and extreme cold temperstues our day programs and administrive offices will be closed on Monday January 26th 2026. Stay Warm and safe everyone!

01/25/2026

We just wanted to check in with all of our Arc families and make sure everyone is staying safe during this storm.

Do you have power and a safe heating source? Is there anything you or your family need right now?

If it would be helpful, we can open the office as a warming station for any of the families we serve. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here for you. 🧡 🖤

Fight Food Insecurity in those we serve. Donate today. All donations will be used to provide emergency food assistance to those who need it most.

This fundraiser is focused on combating food insecurity among those we serve — especially during this time of potential delays in SNAP benefits. Many of our individuals and families depend on consistent access to nutritious meals, and your contribution can make a direct and meaningful difference.

💛 The Arc of the Three Rivers Fundraiser

Supporting Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

The Arc of the Three Rivers is dedicated to empowering and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across our community.

This fundraiser is focused on combating food insecurity among those we serve — especially during this time of potential delays in SNAP benefits. Many of our individuals and families depend on consistent access to nutritious meals, and your contribution can make a direct and meaningful difference.

Every dollar raised goes toward providing essential food assistance and emergency resources for those who need it most.

Together, we can bridge the gap and ensure no one goes hungry.
