We are incredibly honored to be nominated for Nonprofit of the Year.

We began with Midweek Mix, just one intentional hour a week dedicated to middle school students — one hour to build relationships, provide structure, and consistently show up.

This year, we expanded that vision and launched Beyond the Bell, an after-school program open to all middle school students in Stephens County. What started as one hour has grown into multiple days each week of supervision, homework support, mentorship, games, structure, and steady adult presence.

We are seeing what happens when expectations are clear and adults are consistent — students rise to the standard.

This nomination belongs to our volunteers who serve faithfully.
It belongs to the families who trust us.
It belongs to every student who walks through our doors and chooses to grow.

We believe middle school matters.
We believe prevention is better than repair.
And we believe Duncan’s future is worth investing in now.

Thank you for recognizing the work.

📣 WE NEED VOLUNTEERS — YOUTH ARE COUNTING ON US

Beyond the Bell now has 85 students registered and more than 40 middle schoolers walking through our doors every Tuesday and Thursday.

That’s 40+ kids who need structure.
40+ kids who need guidance.
40+ kids who need adults who show up.

And we cannot do this alone.

The Second Chance Ranch Inc. is looking for dependable volunteers to serve with our Beyond the Bell program on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We need adults who can:
• Help supervise rooms
• Support homework time
• Lead games or small groups
• Maintain order and structure
• Be a steady, positive presence

Consistency matters. These students deserve adults who commit and follow through.

Thank you to Allison Spurlin for blessing our Midweek Mix crew with pizza today! 🍕 The room was full, the boxes were empty, and the conversations were so good.

We also made our own “reset wheels” to practice healthy ways to calm down, refocus, and take care of ourselves when things feel heavy.

Each student customized their wheel with ideas that work for them—from getting creative to taking a walk or tidying their space.

You didn’t just feed students — you gave them a reason to sit, connect, and feel cared for in the middle of a busy week. Full bellies, good conversations, and a space that feels safe and welcoming… that’s what this is all about.
