Did someone say BINGO?! 🎉

On Wednesday, we put a sweet twist on one of our favorite games and celebrated with a fun round of bingo… using jelly beans! 🫘

There were lots of laughs, colorful cards (although most opted for red!), and plenty of tasty treats as everyone played along. It was the perfect mix of fun, friendly competition, and a little sugar rush! 😄

We hope everyone had an EGG-cellent Easter!

Our residents were so excited to receive a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself this season! 🐰

A big thank you to the Dunkirk 4-H Lucky Clovers for spending time with us. They brought along an adorable furry friend (who completely stole our hearts 🐇💕) and led a beautiful suncatcher craft that our residents truly enjoyed.

Our residents had the best time with you and we can’t wait to welcome you back again soon!

Our residents have been busy!

This week our Busy Bee store opened- and it was booming! 🐝

Our residents earn “busy bee bucks” by playing bingo and get to spend them every 3 months. Many have donated their earnings so the other residents can go shopping as well. With that said we almost sold out of all the items this week! Let us know if you would like to donate some items to our store! ❤

We had a sp-egg-tacular time at our annual Easter Egg Hunt! 🐣

After all the eggs were gathered outside we headed in to collect more Easter eggs from the Easter bunny’s helpers (our lovely residents) and to enjoy some cookies and punch. This year we were able to give away brand new bikes, fill extra eggs with candy, and many other surprise prize items!

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful community and the many people and businesses who donated a variety of items for this event. It wouldn’t have been possible without you! 🫶

Congratulations to all our winners and we are already looking forward to next year!

Happy Easter! 🐇

Happy April Fools! 🤭

We’re having fun with a few playful shenanigans—from pulling a “broken TV” prank on our administrator to surprising our maintenance man with a little “mouse” we caught! 🐭📺

All in good fun and lots of laughs around here! 😄

This month, our gadabout adventure took us to the Fiber Fest at the Jay County Fairgrounds!

We had so much fun exploring all the beautiful handcrafted items, seeing the many different colors of wool, and watching talented artisans spin wool right before our eyes. One of our favorite stops was checking out the incredible chainsaw carvings by Myles Nasby — his work was truly amazing, and we loved seeing all the creative pieces he has made!

We even had the opportunity to try out some antiques, including a flax hackle from 1752! It was such a unique experience to see and touch a piece of history.

A special thank you to John Lindsey for giving us a wonderful demonstration and letting us join in on the fun. It made the day even more memorable!

Wow — when we say we are family here at The Waters, we truly mean it! ❤️

We cannot thank our staff, families, and community enough for their incredible generosity. Because of your kindness and support, we were able to gather so many donations to help the sisters and their family as they recover from their house fire.

Moments like this show the true strength of our community. When one of our own is going through a difficult time, we come together to lift them up. Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make a difference. 💙

Happy Long-Term Care Administrators Week to Ty Archer, our dedicated Administrator at The Waters of Dunkirk! 🎉

Leading a team with many different personalities and bringing everyone together around one shared mission is no small task, and Ty does it with strength, grace, and determination. She lifts us up when we’re feeling low, talks us through challenging moments, and always reminds us to keep our goals and our residents at the center of everything we do. 💙

Ty works tirelessly behind the scenes, often fighting battles we may not even see, all while keeping our team focused, supported, and moving forward together. Her leadership helps create a community where staff, residents, and families feel valued and cared for.

We are incredibly grateful for all that Ty does for The Waters of Dunkirk. Please join us in celebrating her and thanking her for her hard work, dedication, and commitment to our facility! 👏

It may be Ken Day, but we’re still living for Barbie Day. We all know she’s really the main event anyway 😉💖🎀✨

Say Cheese(Balls)!!! 🧀

This past week our residents and Activity Director, Lindsay Myers, joined in on the Cheese Head Game - where the goal was to toss cheese balls and see how many would stick on each other's heads!

The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and LOTS of cheese balls everywhere. The cheesy fun and our residents reactions were priceless! The best part? Making a cheese beard! 🤣
