Happy New Year!

๐ŸŽ‰ Hello, 2026! Our First Baby Has Arrived ๐ŸŽ‰

Welcome Analeia Rhoads Simpson, the first baby of 2026 born at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center!

๐Ÿ’• She arrived at 4:17 a.m. on Jan. 1, weighing 6 lbs., 6 oz., to proud parents Jasmine and Michael Rhoads Simpson of Fayetteville. ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐ŸŽ‰

Analeia and her family received a celebratory gift basket made possible by our generous community partners. Special thanks to the Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation, Cape Fear Valley Magnolia Gift Shop, Carolina Specialties International, and Jersey Mikeโ€™s Subs (161 Westwood Shopping Center) for helping.

As we reflect on 30 years of service and look ahead to whatโ€™s next, there is still time to make a year-end gift that supports the continued growth and strength of healthcare in our community.

Your support helps:
- Advance medical education and workforce development
- Provide life-saving equipment and technology
- Fund programs that bring comfort, healing, and hope to patients and families

Every gift builds on the foundation created over the past 30 years and helps ensure high-quality care remains available for generations to come.

We are months away from the opening of the Adolescent Behavioral Health Center on the campus of Central Harnett Hospital! This building will provide 16 inpatient beds that are designed specifically to help psychiatric patients ages 12 to 17 and their families. Harnett Health Foundation is proud to support this much needed project and is grateful for those who also recognize the importance of this initiative.

A special thank you to Dr. P.K. Vyas for making a transformational gift to aid in these efforts. Dr. Vyas said, "Over my more than 35 year career, I have seen many teen and young adults suffer from severe mental illness, many of which have lost their life. The problem has severely escalated over recent years and the ability to provide residential treatment and early intervention has been extremely limited. I am happy that I can partner with the Harnett Health Foundation in helping the youth of our community have access to the type of care that will make a tremendous impact on their life."

๐ŸŒŸEmployee Donor Spotlight: Reverend Roy Johnson, Manager of Chaplain Services for Harnett Healthcare๐ŸŒŸ

How long have you been with the health system? 22 yearsโ€ฆand many of those years, and currently, serving on the Harnett Health Foundation Board of Directors.

Why did you become an employee donor? In 2005, Betsy Johnson Hospital Foundation was founded and I was Staff Chaplain and one of the Charter Members of the Foundation. Through the Samaritan
Funds, donations were raised to help patients in need with transportation costs and other emergency needs requested by nursing staff. Thankfully, this Ministry has grown, and still active.

What inspires you to give? For the Cancer Center and Adolescence Center. I feel the Lord inspired me to give to these causes. The reason for these two, as Staff Chaplain, started at Wake Med in 2001 - until 2004, and started at Betsy Johnson on Feb. 4, 2004. I cherished the honor God has given me to serve as Hospital Chaplain (from 2001 to the present!). It was part of my job to be there in many instances to see and witness the care, compassion, professional skill and sacrifices our staff makes for the care of our patients. They have one goal, in my opinion, to give medical treatment to all and to save lives. For this reason, and Lord willing, I desire this cause to be part of my legacy.

Thank you, Reverend Roy, for being an employee donor and for your hard work and dedication to support our patients and programs! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š
