Check out our newest blog post where she learns treatment is not linear; in fact it’s quite bumpy:

Everything was fine… until it wasn’t. Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day I had several tests - all with NORMAL results. I was grateful that I wasn’t dying and I did not have cancer. I don’t put much stock into estrogen levels on bloodwork in perimenopause, except that they can give you clues when there are signs that something isn’t working.
The end result: tweaking my MHT regimen, starting a new supplement and playing ‘wait and see.’ The lesson learned: even when you know the research and how it’s supposed to go, it’s often a bumpy road to get to your destination.”

I took this video 3 months ago. I just noticed my right foot position TODAY! No wonder I can’t balance! The exercise only works if it’s done correctly and I completely missed that my turned in foot may be the issue.

Find a PT who prescribes the exercise to fit the person!

Most people think of squeezing the pelvic floor muscles as a way to improve their function (aka Kegels).

But did you know the pelvic floor is actually designed to shorten AND lengthen? That’s right! It moves like a trampoline, stretching and lengthening as it absorbs load and shortening to create force.

Both movements are equally important for a strong and healthy pelvic floor.

After many years of studying the most recent and best evidence around hormones in perimenopause (and beyond), MHT is one treatment intervention I can get behind. I am excited for the future of women’s health now that priorities have started to shift and more women have access to MHT and other hormonal support in midlife.

Despite all of this, I will continue to stand firmly on my soapbox:

MENOPAUSAL HORMONE THERAPY IS NOT A STAND ALONE TREATMENT.

Hormones help - a lot - but they do not replace comprehensive, holistic care of the many symptoms and changes associated with the midlife transition.
