This is my mom and me in Canyonlands in 1994 or 95. If only I could go back in time to this moment...

Last week, I commemorated the 30th anniversary of her passing. She was 49 when she died, and I was 22. Even after all of these years, the grief still lives in me, though I’ve grown big around it.

I’ll light a candle for my mom at the Grief Yoga Circle at this Sunday to honor her life and the ways in which her life and death have shaped mine.

For those of you living with grief, I invite you to join me in community to honor your loved ones and share yogic practices that support the grieving process.

The Grief Yoga Circle meets 2-3:30 pm on April 19th. I hope to see some of my Durango friends there!

Sacred movement rooted in the ancient South Indian tradition of Kalaripayattu offered as a meditative and empowering movement practice along with Thai-inspired supportive touch.

The experience moves through an elemental arc:
Spirit - Opening

Kirtan-style Sanskrit call-and-response chant to open the space and connect breath, voice, and intention.

Water - Slow Sacred Flow. Joint rotations and animal-flow-inspired Kalaripayattu floor movements that are fluid.

Fire - Inner Power Activation. Deeper Kalaripayattu stances, kicks and Hits (Kal/Kai prayogam) to ignite the fire.

Air - Balance & Expansion. Balancing postures inspired by peacock and warrior archetypes, emphasizing breath and lightness.

Earth - Integration & Restorative Closing. Restorative poses with supportive touch to integrate and settle the nervous system.

The intention is for students to leave feeling restored, empowered, and deeply connected to their bodies and inner strength.

Just look at these babies! The OG inspiration behind YogaDurango , Michele & Sheryl. ♥️ Do you know that YD will celebrate its 20th Birthday this Fall? Isn’t that amazing?

There is something else very special that needs mentioning; Sheryl & Michele have been teaching their Sunday morning & Friday noon classes for most of the those 20 years. ✨
It’s pretty cool to attend these weekly practices and see, among the new faces, many people who have been attending since the beginning.

YogaDurango would not be what it is today without all of you. Thanks for showing up, rolling out your mats and practicing with us. We appreciate you and look forward to seeing you soon.♥️

As always, there’s a whole lot going on behind the scenes. Please check out our website & discover what suits you. There is truly something happening for everyone. Link is in our bio. 🪷

Sheng Zhen is comprised of gentle, graceful movements that stimulate the body’s life force energy, qi, producing a deep sense of inner peace. Practicing the rhythmic and synchronized movements of Sheng Zhen promotes a quiet mind and a calm heart.

Consistent, dedicated practice harmonizes the body, calms the emotions, and increases a sense of well-being. Ultimately, one can experience a sense of merging with the universe: a feeling of an open heart, acceptance, and joy.
Melissa has been practicing mindfulness and meditation since 2009. She has traveled around the world learning from her teacher, Master Li. Melissa has participated in numerous workshops, meditation retreats and completed three teacher trainings - culminating to over 450 hours of class time. It was a full house for Sunday morning practice with Sheryl today. It’s amazing how there is always seems to be room for one (or two!) more even when the studio seems packed.
It was a beautiful & powerful way to begin the day. ☮️
Wishing you all a Happy Easter.🐇 🌼

Join Brandy and Nicola Dehlinger this Saturday, April 4, from 11-1:00 for a harmonic exploration of plants, sound, and heart resonance. Over two hours, you’ll deepen your intuitive awareness while engaging with safe, non-toxic herbs.

We’ll begin by reflecting on a heart-centered quality, followed by a few drops of a plant tincture. We will keep the names of the herbs a mystery until the end to allow you to delve into your intuition and receive directly from the Wisdom within you. You will receive an immersive sound bath meditation, and at the end, we will gently share and integrate your experience as a group.

Hannah’s first monthly Communication Circle is happening on Thursday from 6-7pm. Come connect♥️.

From Hannah: I am honored to be offering this new monthly series. As a social worker, chef, and ecotherapist, I believe that connection is the beating heart of our day to day. I have witnessed time and time again how heartfelt connection offers a sense of belonging and purpose.

As a deep feeler, I know that meaningful conversation is a salve for the confusion, grief, and uncertainty of these times. And yet as we move through the busyness of our days, it can be challenging to find space to pause and drop in. These monthly facilitated conversations are just that: a space to connect, feel, and pause in community.

April’s Community Circle will honor the paradox of being a human right now. This moment in time is filled with delight, despair, rage, joy (and everything in between)... and I believe that authentic conversation reminds us of our capacity to hold it all. I would be honored to have you join me for this new offering. (Please know that you are welcome to join the space whether you feel up for sharing or not. You can listen, share, lay down, or just be.)

You are welcome to reach out to me at hannah@earthfeltbeings.com with any questions.

A sigh is not just a sigh!

Intentional sighing while practicing yoga involves a deep, elongated inhale followed by an audible exhale. A good sigh not only helps oxygenate the lungs, but also releases physical tension in the body tension and helps a us process our emotions.

At YD our teachers encourage you to take up space with a juicy, audible exhale throughout your practice. Thanks, Brandy!) it might feel a little awkward at first but when you realize how great the release feels in the physical & emotional body you’ll likely yourself happily making some making some noise. It just feels good. 😊
