De’Marcus leads our Patient Experience Specialist (PES) team with calm, steady leadership, expertise, and genuine care. In his role supporting our operations and logistics, he helps each PES team member stay organized and focused so they can give patients the attentive, timely care they need.

Our PES team is often the first voice people hear when they contact Axis, and they reflect his organized, respectful, and kind approach. They share information, coordinate details, and help each person have a clear, smooth experience with us.

Pagosa Springs, please join us in welcoming our new provider, Rebecca Hamilton, PA-C, to the care team at our Axis Health System - Pagosa Springs Urgent Care location.

Rebecca provides same-day care for illnesses, minor injuries, and those unexpected “mountain life” moments — from laceration repair and splinting to rapid assessment and wound care.

She brings experience in urgent care and rural medicine and is committed to serving our Pagosa Springs community. Rebecca earned her Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Duke University and is a VA Health Professional Scholarship recipient for her work caring for veterans.

What patients appreciate most? She listens carefully, explains options clearly, and builds realistic, step-by-step care plans, so you leave knowing exactly what comes next.

She’s proud to serve rural and mountain communities across the Western Slope and Four Corners — and we’re proud to have her on our team.

It's a free group recovery meeting, open to the public. Unlike traditional 12-step programs, SMART Recovery focuses on self-empowerment in abstinence-based, peer-led support groups to help with any addictive behavior. The goal is to help people discover effective self-management tools and create meaningful connections in a supportive environment. Examples of what this group provides:
