Reaching out to share some offerings from a host of individuals/organizations in the community responding to the pause on SNAP
If you haven’t heard about the Burrito Fund from created by Grant and Lance at the Smiley Café – maybe reach out to their Instagram for information. Briefly, they created fund to raise $ so folks could grab a free burrito and coffee (no questions asked). They raised over $12,000 in 24 hours. In their words, “Community, standing up for each other. Some days life can seem bleak - like we're stretched to the breaking point and now sure how we'll make it through. You reminded us that we'll get through together. Today: Good Food Collective is kicking off a regional fund - this is huge because it also covers some rural areas that really need support. You can donate here: https://www.goodfoodcollective.org/

The Hive Community Food Pantry – Open Saturdays 1-5. Their first distribution is today: Saturday - Smiley Cafe will supply burritos and coffee, so folks can leave with full bellies, full hands, and full hearts.
Lastly, there are drop off boxes at Catacombs (1162 Main Ave) for food and winter clothing as well as Wild Blume Skin Spa (3577 Main Ave). Flyer attached.
