💙 Why I Walk Wednesday: Meet Rhett Brewer, Age 7 💙

“I hate having diabetes, it sucks. But also, if I didn’t, then we wouldn’t have the Walk in Durant.” – Rhett

Rhett’s honesty says it all. Living with type 1 diabetes is tough, but thanks to the Durant Walk, kids like Rhett don’t have to face it alone.

His mom, Melissa Brewer, felt so strongly about creating connection and hope for families like theirs that she started the Durant Walk. Because of her advocacy, Rhett and so many others now have a place to find strength, community, and support. 🫶

👏 We are so grateful for Melissa’s commitment to bringing this incredible event to Durant.
