When emotions run high, it’s hard to know what to do. At Autism COE, we use a simple strategy called the 3-Second Reset. It’s not about stopping the behavior instantly, but about helping your child feel safe and understood.

The Strategy: 🛑 Pause: Breathe first. 🗣️ Label: Name the emotion ("You're sad"). 👉 Plan: Give a clear direction ("First cleanup, then snack").

It doesn’t have to be perfect. Small, calm moments build the biggest connection.
