The volunteer-based Family Support Program is dedicated to caring for, serving, and lightening the burden of the Duke PTCT community.

We are a non-profit organization that provides assistance and support to the patients and families of the Duke PTCT program. Our program is self-supporting; we are not funded by any hospital or organization.

Teams & Togetherness
Each year Rainbow of Heroes Walk participants have the choice to create a team in honor of a loved one or FSP community member. This year we had a record number of teams who gathered at the Walk, showing commitment and dedication to support their Hero. Teams have the option of fundraising for the ROH Walk in which all proceeds go directly to supporting the work and mission of the Family Support Program. We loved seeing all the different t-shirt designs, creative team names, and community members rally together as our teams walked hand-in-hand around the track during the Walk. Collectively, our 2025 teams raised over $72,000 for the FSP!

We are grateful for every child, every caregiver, and every team member who helps make the PTCT Family Support Program what it is.
Our team was honored to share a Thanksgiving meal with PTCT families and staff yesterday - a simple but meaningful reminder of how powerful community can be.

✨Thankful Thursday✨

We are still holding close the beauty of the 2025 Rainbow of Heroes Walk from this past Saturday. Every moment was filled with light, connection, care, joy, remembrance, honor, and love. There was laughter and cheering, tears and embraces, and radiant smiles on every face. It truly was a sacred and unforgettable day ❤️✨🌈

With deepest gratitude: thank you. To everyone who joined us, volunteered, supported, cheered, and celebrated - YOU made it what it was.

Each year, one of the most meaningful sights at the Rainbow of Heroes Walk is our patient family group photo. This year we had more families in our picture than ever before! Without anyone planning it, the way our heroes and families gathered seemed to form the shape of a rainbow 🌈 - a beautiful reflection of the love, strength, and connection that brings us together.

We can’t wait to gather again next year! 🌈🌈🌈

Bidding for the 2025 ROH Walk Silent Auction is OPEN!

How It Works:
View Items: All auction treasures are located on our auction website at bidpal.net/roh25
Bidding Opens: Thursday, September 25 at 9:00 AM EST
Bidding Closes: Saturday, September 27 at 12:00 PM EST during the ROH Walk

Mailable Items:
Over 50 items can be mailed - perfect for supporters who aren’t attending in person!
Check the item description for “Item can be mailed.”
If you win a mailable item, FSP will contact you following the ROH Walk for details.

Bidding Made Easy:
Create a OneCause account to start bidding by visiting our site bidpal.net/roh25 and selecting “sign in”.
You’ll receive automated text alerts if you’re outbid, so you’ll never miss a chance to win!

What Happens When You Win:
If you’re notified you won an item, now what? Items must be picked up at the ROH Walk auction tent when lunch begins. No items may be picked up between 12:00 PM through the Moment of Honor.

We're just days away from the 25th Annual Rainbow of Heroes Walk THIS Saturday, Sep 27 from 10am-2pm!

Pre-registration is closed, but don't let that stop you from joining us for the magic of the day! Walk-up registration is available at the registration tent when you first arrive.

The Walk is located at the Duke Center for Living 3475 Erwin Rd Durham, NC 27705. After turning into the Duke Center for Living, follow the road all the way to the back of the complex, past the fitness center. You'll see our big white tents and famous rainbow arch waiting to welcome you!

We recognize the forecast is looking a bit uncertain, but we'll be there, rain or shine. Bring your ponchos, rainboots, and umbrellas.

We'll see you Saturday at 10am!

🌈 We’re ONE week away from the 25th Annual Rainbow of Heroes Walk — a day to celebrate, remember, and take a step for our heroes! 🎉❤️👟

Each lap will be walked in honor of the many heroes who inspire this day — patients, siblings, parents, caregivers, and the entire community of support.

This year’s theme, “Take a Step for a Hero,” carries forward the spirit of the very first walk in 2001, reminding us that every step together surrounds families with love and care.
