I have seen average human head gain 50 lbs in weight over the last decade or two.

How heavy is your head? Depending on the degree of the angle, our head can weigh anywhere form 10 pounds to 60 POUNDS. This is a large amount of pressure to put on the cervical spine when it already has an important job of holding the head vertically. The farther your head is out in front of the body, the more pressure there is on the spinal cord and surrounding structures; think upper back and shoulders.

The Egoscue Method was born in 1971 through my own search for answers to my chronic musculoskeletal pain.

While being joyful is the design for the soul/spirit

is the design for the body to experience life in a 'happiness mode'.

We asked you last week if you knew what major load bearing joints we look at when assessing your posture.
Here you are! BUT, while these joints are very important players, we also look at head position, foot position, spinal curvature (or lack thereof), pelvic tilt etc. We will break down each of these joints in flowing posts. Stay tuned!

Wondering about smaller joints like wrists? Elbows? These are all a part of your postural makeup too and are all connected to the main players!
