We recently visited our friends at the for a presentation by Brittni Winslow called “The Secret to Smoother Days!“ This awesome framework was created by Brittni to support busy families who are trying to make their systems more swift and their routines more regulated. Because busy & fulfilled doesn’t have to mean overwhelmed & exhausted too!

As we celebrate 25 years of Emerge Pediatric Therapy, we are honoring the story of where we came from, and writing the next chapter together! Story-telling doesn't have one look, or sound, or style, and as we share our stories, we also hope to empower story-tellers of all types to share theirs too.

We are honored to reflect with gratitude on where we have been and look ahead with passion and purpose. This year is about sharing, listening and growing together as we continue writing the next part of our story side by side!

Through play, connection, communication and care, we believe every voice matters and every story deserves to be told. 💛

Let us set a scene for you: the Sunday Scaries are starting to set in and as we shift into Monday Mode, we start looking at our weekly routines and systems, hoping to find any opportunity to improve them.

Next thing you know, the plans and accountability we created for ourselves are out the window because we’re dysregulated, overstimulated, and overwhelmed.

But what if we accepted that we’re only human and planned for those feelings too?

Today's Staff Spotlight is Abbey Sutter, a Speech Language Pathologist in our Durham Clinic! Abbey brings so much fun & excitement to her work as an SLP, and we're grateful for the type of friend, colleague, and therapist that she is. Thank you Abbey for making our team better just by being on it! 💛

Abbey was born and raised in Cary, NC. She received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from UNC Chapel Hill (go heels!), where she found her passion for treating children of all ages and abilities. She proudly followed in her mother’s footsteps by receiving her Masters of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University, where she gained experience treating language, articulation, feeding, and myofunctional disorders.

Abbey is committed to providing individualized and neurodiversity affirming treatment to all clients! In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to true crime podcasts, and reading a good book. Cheers to you, Abbey!
