OCS. These three letters indicate that a therapist has received Board Certification through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialities as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. As of 2020, only 6% of physical therapists hold this advanced certification. FIT Physical Therapy is lucky to have a therapist with this advanced certification. Erin Wyant received her OCS certification in 2021. DRY NEEDLING 🔴What is it? It is a therapy technique involving inserting a thin needle into myofascial trigger points to improve muscle function and reduce pain. Although it uses similar needles to acupuncture, the goal is more similar to that of a deep tissue massage.
🔴Who can benefit? Almost anyone! But specifically people that have a problem with a muscle or muscle group and who have tried other treatments without much success. The goal of this treatment is to get your muscles functioning properly again to allow you to achieve your goals and move pain free! 🔴Dry needling is a safe intervention but certain people do need to be careful with this treatment including those with bleeding disorders, metal allergies or those prone to infection. You can discuss any concerns with your physical therapist.
💵How do I pay for it? While insurance is starting to come around, most plans currently do not cover it. We charge $40 or $60 per session depending on how much we do.

Kevin is a long-time Bull City resident. Imagine a time when there were no luxury condos and you could still smell to***co downtown: Kevin remembers those days. While he has great affection for his hometown, he is a two-time Tarheel, having earned his undergraduate and PT degrees from UNC Chapel Hill.

It seems no PT bio is complete without “he/she/they enjoy spending time outdoors with family and pets.” Check. Kevin enjoys those things too. In his younger days he was a competitive cyclist and runner, and he rode his tandem bike across the U.S. with his new (now older) wife. Casual bike rides and walks in the woods still make him happy and keep him moving. He will strive to understand your situation and your goals and help you achieve them.
