We did it! The LTA has been passed by Congress!!!

Today, the House passed the year-end omnibus legislative package that cleared the Senate yesterday and included the Lymphedema Treatment Act, which means our bill has officially been passed by Congress! President Biden is expected to sign the bill as soon as it reaches his desk, so in a very short time the Lymphedema Treatment Act will officially become law!!

Once our lymphatic system is damaged, whether it be from cancer treatments, surgery, infection, injury or just born with a malformed lymphatic system, our risk for developing lymphedema will always be there from that point on.

When we develop lymphedema or have a flare up, we can feel like we've caused our lymphedema. But the truth is, the risk was already there, we didn't do anything wrong.

As hard as it can be to feel this way, you were never at fault.

There is sooooo much I wish people could understand. I guess the biggest thing is that even though I "look" ok, I'm not. Lymphedema robs me daily of many things most take for granted.

Please know I am not complaining. I am beyond thankful for being here and cancer free, but my daily life is now based around my lymphedema (some days are good and others are not). Luckily, I do have quite a toolbox of things to help me feel better and hope they can help you too ~ Sue 💕💪
